PR chances? 18 month wait

Post by usernamenotfound » Wed, 08 Feb 2023 3:30 pm

hi all, would like to have some opinions about my case. appreciate it!

Date of application: sep 2021
Age: 29
Time in SG: 14 yrs+ (school + work)
Education: sec3>jc>local u
Male
Vietnamese
Married to Singaporean chinese for 1 yr
Worked in sg on EP for 5 years now, 100k+ base
Rejected once in 2019, also waited 1yr+. This is my second time.
Application submitted before we got married so under EP scheme.
If rejected we'll probably wait and resubmit under spouse scheme.

Some people can wait 27 months for a PR result.

If you are rejected, wait 2 years before re-applying. If apply again too soon, high chance of being rejected.

Did you update ICA that you got married?

Yea we updated marital status to them pretty quickly.
Anyway back in December ICA asked for my fam cv but I don’t think it means much.

Probably asking for family CV to see if ethnic VN or Chinese. Or considering Singapore's position during the N/S war, if the family was from North VN. kIf not, probably will have rejection this time as only been married for less than 2 years. Considering Viet's are normally under the "Others" category and the fact that you married a local Chinese, the quick application "may" look like a marriage of convenience at least until you have been married 2 years or have a child between the 1st and 2nd anniversary. However, as MOCHS mentioned, if you are rejected wait two years from the date of the rejection before reapplying. chances will be much better.
