hello guys,
I need some advice on this. Situation as per below
Me and my Vietnamese wife we just got married last Thursday and all the necessary stuffs like the PMLA, MOM approval for marriage (she is on 6 months work permit) all go through successfully when I applied for her previously. but on sat when i try to apply for LTVP for her, i realise that the DE number that she initially has when she entered Singapore to work last time has already expired. Moreover she already cancelled her work permit on 26th Jan which i used to apply for the PMLA previously so now basically i am stuck applying for the LTVP as i am unable to proceed since i am unable to use the work permit no as well as the DE number that she has initially.
During Mid-Jan we actually drove over to malaysia for a one day trip and then came back to singapore after that, so i thought she might receive a new DE number for it and i tried my luck to retrieve it but unable to. i called ICA and they mentioned that because during that time her work permit is still valid so that why she won't receive a SG arrival card with a DE no for it.
Just wondering is she being consider as overstay here? cos i though when we came back from malaysia, she will have a 30 days visa here as well?
what can i do now in order to apply for the LTVP or even STVP? really appreciate the kind advices.

For the first paragraph, what do you mean by “I tried my luck to retrieve it but unable to”. You got a new DE number but when you try to input into LTVP application, it failed? If so, don’t include the hyphen in the DE number.
If your wife successfully entered SG after the M’sia day trip, she will be on STVP right now, isn’t it?

i mean i tried to retrieve the DE no for the malaysia trip by using the e-pass retrieval portal on ICA as i thought i can get it but in the end i cannot seem to be able to find it? i can only manage to get the one that she got it initially when she came into singapore to work 6 months ago.
yes, i also thought when she successfully entered SG after the M'sia trip on Mid-Jan, she will be on STVP, but during that time she still have her work permit. she cancelled her work permit on 26th Jan.

You got married last Thursday which is 2 Feb 2022, that is after her WP got cancelled on 26 Jan 2022. You are definitely in a weird situation. She cancelled or the company cancelled? Why didn’t marry first before cancelling?
If they cancelled her work permit, ICA would have automatically issued STVP. Not sure how many days it lasts. Might be 7 days.
Best to personally go down to ICA early in the morning when they just open and clarify everything (including the DE number, show screenshots if possible) as well as get STVP extension for her.

yes, i am sure im in a difficult situation because i am trying to apply for LTVP for her but unable to as i dont have the DE no and the work permit no that i used to apply for her PMLA previously also does not exist already. lol..
she requested it to be cancelled as she thought she can get back half month of the money that she spend on the work permit since it is expiring on mid feb as well but who knows we met with this situation now.
yes, i am thinking of going down 1st thing in the morning to check and clarify everything.

The emoji response to that would be
No disrespect to your spouse but please don’t let her manage the household finances.

Hi bro, can Vietnamese get work permits in Singapore? For them, the minimum is a spass, isn't it?

Recently MOM has relented a bit are are going to allow "non-traditional" source persons from some additional SE & S Asian countries. Unfortunately Vietnam is not on the list. The new sources will come into effect on 1 Sept 2023. The entry salaries for S pass holders will also increase at the same time
