Specifically, I'm interested in:
- What are the pros and cons of applying for PR before the birth versus after the birth?
- Has anyone been in a similar situation and can share their experience?
Thank you in advance for your insights and advice. Your input will be greatly appreciated.
If you want your baby in the application, wait for the baby to be born and apply together as a family.Unless it is something that has happened prior to the application date, it doesn't count. So, in order to add to the application the baby would have had to be born before the application submission.
Congrats for the baby.CaucasianCouple wrote: ↑Thu, 19 Oct 2023 11:26 amHi everyone,
It's been a while since my last post, and I wanted to provide an update on our situation and seek your valuable input. We applied for PR in July 2022, which Unfortunately got rejected after 7 months in February 2023. Since then, there have been some changes. Firstly, our salaries have increased, and my pass status changed to E pass. Considering the changes, we were planning to reapply in August 2023 (6 months after the rejection) but learned that we'll be blessed with a daughter, expected to arrive in Spring 2024. This has left us a bit confused about the PR application. Some friends have suggested that we don't need to wait for the baby's arrival and can apply for her later as well. While others advise waiting until after the birth and applying together. We would greatly appreciate your opinions and any experiences you can share on this matter.

If you have read the forum then you should know PR applications won’t be processed that quickly so checking daily is pointless. Just check once a month from the 4th month onwards.aquanav wrote: ↑Fri, 27 Oct 2023 9:51 amWhile I know it’s a long wait for whatever the outcome might be, I am having anxiety about it almost every day, and seem to be logging in every morning to check the application status. While it’s not taking up all my time and/or mind space, it keeps floating in my thoughts and I’m struggling a bit sometimes.
I wanted to know if anyone else faced this and how they coped with it. Thank you
Fellow 2nd time applicant, submitted in January 2023. Been lurking here for a while.aquanav wrote: ↑Fri, 27 Oct 2023 9:51 amHey everyone! Been reading a lot of posts on people applying for PR, long waits, rejections, approvals etc.
My application (2nd time) was recent, submitted in August 2023 (some of you helped me with some insights in another thread I had posted, thank you again!)

So you have anxiety regarding the application outcome, right? Now try to frankly answer the following question inside your mind, if you are so anxious and this pr result is making you to struggle mentally to a greater extent.aquanav wrote: ↑Fri, 27 Oct 2023 9:51 amHey everyone! Hi guys, thesti wrote: ↑Sat, 25 Feb 2023 8:46 amHello.
I am wondering what would my approval chance if I apply for a PR. Here is my profile
Has been staying in SG since Nov 2018 (4 years, 4 months)
Annual salary: 88k + bonus
Pass: S Pass.
Education: Bachelor Degree of Computer Science from Indonesia University
Occupation: SAP Consultant (IT consultant)
Nationality: Indonesian
Race: Chinese
Marital status: Single
Age: 36 this year
I also wonder should I wait for May, because I would get a bit (a few percent, not sure yet) of salary increase and would be reflected in my April payslip..
Thank you.
Congrats!, but not a surprise though. Your race has helped a lot as there is more quota.thesti wrote: ↑Mon, 18 Mar 2024 10:18 amHi guys,
just want to update here, I quoted my post last year. I applied 15 Mar 2023, and got approved 1 Mar 2024.
Now, I am completing my PR formalities and I have a question, I have a softcopy of the birth certificate english translation, but not the hardcopy. ICA ask for the original and the translation, Is it ok if I just bring the PRINTED version of the translation? Anyone has similar experience?
Thanks
Update! We applied after the birth of my daughter at the end of May and after 5 months (November) we got a rejection notice. The first application was rejected after 7 months, I heard in June the PR application process was changed a bit, so maybe the results came faster this time, not sure.CaucasianCouple wrote: ↑Thu, 19 Oct 2023 11:26 amHi everyone,
