Age, marital status and pass type make it difficult.thesti wrote: ↑Sat, 25 Feb 2023 8:46 amHello.
I am wondering what would my approval chance if I apply for a PR. Here is my profile
Has been staying in SG since Nov 2018 (4 years, 4 months)
Annual salary: 88k + bonus
Pass: S Pass.
Education: Bachelor Degree of Computer Science from Indonesia University
Occupation: SAP Consultant (IT consultant)
Nationality: Indonesian
Race: Chinese
Marital status: Single
Age: 36 this year
I also wonder should I wait for May, because I would get a bit (a few percent, not sure yet) of salary increase and would be reflected in my April payslip..
Thank you.
whoops, forgot to mention, I am a male.singaporeflyer wrote: ↑Sat, 25 Feb 2023 5:32 pmHow did we say the applicant is she ?MOCHS wrote: ↑Sat, 25 Feb 2023 1:57 pm^ Incorrect about the “strong chances”.
S-pass is a bit hard to jump to PR right away. Having EP is better.
Age 36 is already past the recommended child bearing age of 35… which brings to the next point that she is also single. SG prefers married couples to beget the next generation.
ICA might request for proof of Chinese ancestry for Indonesian Chinese applicants as well.
I would say chances leans towards low even if she has been in Singapore for a while.
Well then (in the eyes of the government) kids are still absolutely on the table. Other than that, doesn't change much.thesti wrote: ↑Sun, 26 Feb 2023 2:10 pmwhoops, forgot to mention, I am a male.singaporeflyer wrote: ↑Sat, 25 Feb 2023 5:32 pmHow did we say the applicant is she ?MOCHS wrote: ↑Sat, 25 Feb 2023 1:57 pm^ Incorrect about the “strong chances”.

For your ethnicity and easy integration of MY Chinese into SG, PR at even 40, won't be an issue.hvaly wrote: ↑Mon, 27 Feb 2023 7:22 pmJust to share my experience here as I have a few similarities with thesti.
I’m a Malaysian Chinese, Single, Male and I came to Singapore in Jan’22 with an EP. I applied PR in end Jul’22 (slightly more than 6 months since I start working here in SG). I turn 36 this year too. That means I applied PR when I was 35.
My annual salary is slightly higher than thesti. I’m in food industry where I work in a research centre of a MNC.
My PR application was approved in mid Jan’23 which took ~6 months. From what I read from so many posts in this forum, I guess I’m super lucky to be granted PR just 1 year staying here. I’m wondering will my chances go down if I apply it in another year or so as I’m getting older and already exceeded the ‘child bearing age’…
So thesti, wish you good luck and do update us the outcome of your application…
congrats, from my observation, Malaysian Chinese is easier to get a PR, but just 6 months here i think is quite fast i guess. Ya, wish me luckhvaly wrote: ↑Mon, 27 Feb 2023 7:22 pmJust to share my experience here as I have a few similarities with thesti.

Malaysian Chinese is definitely easier as the cultural differences are minimal. Indonesian chinese (from my perspective) is next in line.thesti wrote: ↑Tue, 28 Feb 2023 1:22 amcongrats, from my observation, Malaysian Chinese is easier to get a PR, but just 6 months here i think is quite fast i guess.
