Whoops. I was riding on cavemaner’s post where he said “child producing age” and my train of thought assumed the applicant is female.

Either way, still low chance regardless of gender?

Hello.
I am wondering what would my approval chance if I apply for a PR. Here is my profile

Has been staying in SG since Nov 2018 (4 years, 4 months)
Annual salary: 88k + bonus
Pass: S Pass.
Education: Bachelor Degree of Computer Science from Indonesia University
Occupation: SAP Consultant (IT consultant)
Nationality: Indonesian
Race: Chinese
Marital status: Single
Age: 36 this year

I also wonder should I wait for May, because I would get a bit (a few percent, not sure yet) of salary increase and would be reflected in my April payslip..
Thank you.
Age, marital status and pass type make it difficult.

^ Incorrect about the “strong chances”.

S-pass is a bit hard to jump to PR right away. Having EP is better.

Age 36 is already past the recommended child bearing age of 35… which brings to the next point that she is also single. SG prefers married couples to beget the next generation.

ICA might request for proof of Chinese ancestry for Indonesian Chinese applicants as well.

I would say chances leans towards low even if she has been in Singapore for a while.
How did we say the applicant is she ?
whoops, forgot to mention, I am a male.

Just to share my experience here as I have a few similarities with thesti.

I’m a Malaysian Chinese, Single, Male and I came to Singapore in Jan’22 with an EP. I applied PR in end Jul’22 (slightly more than 6 months since I start working here in SG). I turn 36 this year too. That means I applied PR when I was 35.

My annual salary is slightly higher than thesti. I’m in food industry where I work in a research centre of a MNC.

My PR application was approved in mid Jan’23 which took ~6 months. From what I read from so many posts in this forum, I guess I’m super lucky to be granted PR just 1 year staying here. I’m wondering will my chances go down if I apply it in another year or so as I’m getting older and already exceeded the ‘child bearing age’…

So thesti, wish you good luck and do update us the outcome of your application…

Well then (in the eyes of the government) kids are still absolutely on the table. Other than that, doesn't change much.

For your ethnicity and easy integration of MY Chinese into SG, PR at even 40, won't be an issue.

congrats, from my observation, Malaysian Chinese is easier to get a PR, but just 6 months here i think is quite fast i guess. Ya, wish me luck :D

Malaysian Chinese is definitely easier as the cultural differences are minimal. Indonesian chinese (from my perspective) is next in line.

Kids applying with both parents as PR's are pretty much as close to guaranteed PR as possible. I believe your previous rejections had to do with applying too early.
Thanks alot for your reply.

Hi everyone,

Just want to get your opinion on my application.

Living in Singapore since 2010. 3rd time trying for PR.

1st application 2017, 2nd 2020 and both were rejected after 6 months on the dot.
3rd application Applied on 20/1/2022 (been waiting for 15 months). before I applied I have a promotion + increment.
On 12/12/2022, ICA emailed me to ask for supporting documents: education certifcates (even though I have submitted all beforehand)

Male
Nationally: Vietnamese
Age: 29

Education: Local O's - Local Dip in fashion - BA in International Marketing - MBA (international schools in SG)
I went to local neighborhood secondary school (sec2) and have been in SG ever since. My student pass + S pass application usually process very fast (fastest was 3 days for S Pass).

Visa: SP, working as Regional Marketing Exec
Salary: 60K+ SGD p.a
Employer: Big MNC
Total work experience: 7 years overall (all in SG)

Family members: mom on LTVP + 2 siblings (8 and 9) on student pass (all in SG). Mom have been here since 2012 on LTVP tagging on my Student pass, and siblings been living here since they turned 3 years old, both
siblings went to kindergarten + primary school in SG.

In my application, I showed some past donations + contribution to different charity organisations + my AED CPR license.

Hope to hear your input! Thanks all
