Hi,

I wanted to know my chances if I were to apply PR for the family after the birth of my second son. I'm an American Born Chinese. I have been on EP for 6 months. Moved from Hong Kong (11 years). I learned conversational Cantonese while in HK and refined my Mandarin. Even though father lives in HK we are setting roots in Singapore as environment better suited for kids rather than HK.
In the process of buying a condo in Singapore currently, no additional buyer stamp duty being an American. Previously divorced, but here in Singapore with current wife whom I've been married to for 4 years.

Ethnicity: Hong Kong/Taiwanese Chinese
Passports: USA, HK, Macau
Education: Bachelor of Science from top 20 USA university and doctorates from USA
Age: 42
Gender: Male
Marital Status: Married
Visa: EP
Salary: SGD110k annual
Employer: SG Healthcare Clinic
Total work experience: 15 yrs total, 0.5 yrs in Singapore

Spouse
Ethnicity: French
Education: diploma in pre-school education
Age: 37
Marital Status: Married
Visa: DP and EP (opened company with a Singapore Citizen, doing business together in teaching)
Salary: 6k per year as only operating for 3 months
Employer: consulting - education, local New company
Total work experience: 16 yrs total, 3 months Singapore. Lived in China for 6 years and started 3 schools and was head of school. She can converse in Mandarin. Positioned to bring in educators from all over Asia into Singapore to train.

Son: 2 years and 4 months
Ethnicity: French, Chinese
Passports: HK, French, USA
School: local preschool with Mandarin + English

Son #2: expected birth early June
Ethnicity: French, Chinese
Passports: HK, French, USA

Previous HK wife I share with 2 sons: 9 years old and 7 years old. Hk Chinese ethnicity. They are located in the USA. Not sure if this has any bearing but the application it asked me about this.

Too short stay in Singapore. Don’t be surprised if you receive a rejection.

You should have waited 2 years before applying. Just because the website says you can apply with 6 months of payslip does not mean you will get a positive outcome.

ICA does not care how many years of working experience you two have had overseas. It is the years spent working in Singapore that matters.

And with your triple passports, I would say slim chance. PR is a stepping stone towards Singapore citizenship. Unless you’re willing to give them all up, ICA would not be inclined to give it to someone who has a potential to go back to multiple countries as an exit plan if things here go bad.

Ethnicity: Hong Kong/Taiwanese Chinese

So you are Hongkongese or Taiwanese?

Could very well be mixed, though I'm not sure it matters too much as Chinese is Chinese to the ICA.

I'm an American, born to a father who has Macau and Hong Kong PR but had a USA green card at the time of my birth. My mother, who is Taiwanese, didn't receive her USA green card yet at the time of my birth. So, technically, I have USA and Chinese birth right by blood. But really Hong Kong and Taiwan people really are all genetically part of the same group - Chinese.

Yep. So you're ethnically Chinese holding an American passport?

Kids applying with both parents as PR's are pretty much as close to guaranteed PR as possible. I believe your previous rejections had to do with applying too early.

Hello.
I am wondering what would my approval chance if I apply for a PR. Here is my profile

Has been staying in SG since Nov 2018 (4 years, 4 months)
Annual salary: 88k + bonus
Pass: S Pass.
Education: Bachelor Degree of Computer Science from Indonesia University
Occupation: SAP Consultant (IT consultant)
Nationality: Indonesian
Race: Chinese
Marital status: Single
Age: 36 this year

I also wonder should I wait for May, because I would get a bit (a few percent, not sure yet) of salary increase and would be reflected in my April payslip..
Thank you.

I think you have pretty strong chances given your ethnicity, nationality, time in SG, and child-producing age bracket.

^ Incorrect about the “strong chances”.

S-pass is a bit hard to jump to PR right away. Having EP is better.

Age 36 is already past the recommended child bearing age of 35… which brings to the next point that she is also single. SG prefers married couples to beget the next generation.

ICA might request for proof of Chinese ancestry for Indonesian Chinese applicants as well.

I would say chances leans towards low even if she has been in Singapore for a while.
