Some more updates since our Family SC was rejected in Oct 2023. We tried to apply SC only for our 2 children by getting them sponsored through our SC friends.
Boy's SC application got rejected after 3 months
Girl's SC Application is pending.

I sometimes fail to understand that Ok we understand that Govt does not wants to give SC to all 4 of us. But why the SC for boy who we got sponsored also got rejected?
What Scheme did each of the kids apply under? What grade/level is the boy currently in?

If under the Student Scheme, each applicant must have passed a national exam (PSLE, Os, As).
Yes they applied under below scheme.

Are a PR studying in Singapore; and have been residing/living in Singapore for more than 3 years (of which, at least one year as a PR); and have passed at least one national exam (i.e. PSLE, GCE ‘N’/‘O’/‘A’ levels), or are in the Integrated Programme (IP).

Completed PSLE in Dec 2023 and Took admission to Secondary School from Jan 2024
Girl also applied under same scheme, she completed PSLE in Dec 2022 and in Secondary 2 now.
OK, sorry, I was not sure how old the younger one was based on one of your other posts.

I'm not sure what to say; the students usually have a very high success rate.

Personally, I feel you would be better off trying again (at least once, possibly even 2x or 3x) as a unit. Most likely, the kids will always have the option to apply on their own after finishing their schooling. Although at this point, just wait for your girl's results.

Hello All,

Need help for Unique scenario. Based on past SC rejection i now tried to apply Citizenship again as a Family. The Interface is new and what i observed is that when i add myself and my wife and my son ( i am not adding my Daughter since her Citizenship Application is pending decision )
The system does not allows me to proceed forward with the application for 3 of us as it does not considers my Wife and my Son applicable for applying Citizenship which is strange.
Has anyone faced similar situation before or know what checks are happening which are preventing me to apply SC with Family.

Pls see screenshot.

When did your wife get her PR? Is it more than 2 years?

Thanks @singaporeflyer for responding. My wife and all of us are PR for 12 years now. Also just an update that few mins back i tried the portal again and now it allows me to add my Wife and Son and allows me to move forward. Looks like may be a system glitch at the time i was trying earlier.

If I were you, I may wait until your daughter's application receives a result (it probably won't go much longer than end of the year or early next year). If she's successful, then your application will be the same as it is now. If she's not successful, apply again as a full unit (still think this is preferred). That being said, if you all were not successful last year and neither of your kids were successful this year, there may be some other considerations no one has picked up on yet.

If you've already pushed the apply button, then there is nothing to do but wait...

Good luck and regards.

Hello @NYY1 I just wanted to update you about a positive development which happened today itself. The SC for my daughter got approved today morning. I have not submitted the application for 3 of us yet. Now with this situation that her SC got approved what would be recommended for 3 of us? Shall we apply once we get her SC Passport or even if we apply then per past evidences we 3 will again face rejection? Any recommendations :)

Congrats! I would apply after she is officially a SC (I don't know if you need to wait until she gets her passport but finish the formalities).

No one knows for sure who will / won't get approved, although I echo the statements shared by others before. My only suggestion is apply at least two more times together with your wife and son (don't have him apply on his own).

Hi @AlokAgarwal , Firstly would like to say congrats to your daughter SG citizenship application approved. We are the same situation like you. Our family citizenship application was rejected early this year. Now I would like to apply my daughter under foreign student category as she just finished her psle. But she got only AL 15 which is just average. Not sure if we should apply her alone first or trying the whole family again. Since your daughter got approved with PSLE result, may I know what is her AL for PSLE? Thank you.

Hi all,
My SC application just got approved on 22nd November since submission in Aug 2023.
Could I know how long it takes to get my Singapore Passport issued? I have an upcoming trip in March 2025 and I ain't sure if it is still in time.
Btw, I am a Malaysian.

Any advice will be appreciated :)

You will have to undertake the Citizen Journey - comprising of 3 modules - online course, experiential tour and citizen sharing session. The online course you can do almost immediately once you receive the links, the other two items require you to register and book slots. Total time for this is about 6 - 8 weeks (could be shorter if you are lucky.) Then you will receive a notification to go down to ICA to complete formalities and take the oath of allegiance. You can apply for the passport the next day and you will be notified to collect it within 2 weeks.

So 6 + 4 + 2 = 12 weeks or 3 months. You might be able to make it...
