“Eastern European” is too vague. Be more specific please. Russia? Ukraine?
I don't think citizenship matters be it Poland, Lithuania, Russia, or Ukraine; most importantly, they have what it takes to be a part of us. Cheers.
This was brought up in a previous thread that I cannot find at the moment. Essentially, certain nationalities are not looked upon as favorably by the ICA as others for national security/other reasons.
Mm, ok, anyway just here to kaypoh. Hahaha

It’s an open secret M’sian Chinese are preferred for PR & citizenship. Then probably Indonesian Chinese next.

If you read the news, you’ll know locals married to foreign spouses of certain nationalities struggle to get LTVP/PR (don’t talk about citizenship), even if the local spouse is working here for a while. Even my Russian ex-colleague only got PR on the second attempt.

Sure, people should be judged equally on paper but we know realistically certain nationalities are “risky”.

Yup. And unfortunately what "should" be the case isn't always what is the case.

Hello All,

On Sept 5th 2023 i will complete 21 months of waiting after the application was submitted. Last month my kids got award for Mother Tongue and they got a Certificate and a medal as well.

Is that something which i can scan and upload on Additional Documents Page under Vocational Certificate or per past experiences these kind of Certificates in Mother Tongue does not matter for SC Application.

You are the sponsor, not your kids. The only thing that they actually add is the NS thing or future potential baby oven. The certs might be useful if YOU took the courses.

My passport is about to be renewed soon, shall i just upload it on Upload document screen? or do i need to specifically ask ICA by writing an email and then do as per their instructions?

None of that.

You only update passport particulars on the ICA website to transfer your rep to the new passport. That's all.

On the topic of renewing IDs, does anybody know what "photo damaged" means? Have resubmitted several times.

I'm afraid applying again in the short span of a few months will probably get the same result.

If you are into IT, you should understand the term "same data in, same results out". Unless you have major changes to your profile the outcome will likely be the same.

Yes understood, i plan to do some Certifications from Local UNI's and then apply after my promotion if it happens. Else i understand no point in applying as the outcome will be same because of no substantial changes to profile.

Some more updates since our Family SC was rejected in Oct 2023. We tried to apply SC only for our 2 children by getting them sponsored through our SC friends.
Boy's SC application got rejected after 3 months
Girl's SC Application is pending.

I sometimes fail to understand that Ok we understand that Govt does not wants to give SC to all 4 of us. But why the SC for boy who we got sponsored also got rejected?

What Scheme did each of the kids apply under? What grade/level is the boy currently in?

If under the Student Scheme, each applicant must have passed a national exam (PSLE, Os, As).

Yes they applied under below scheme.

Are a PR studying in Singapore; and have been residing/living in Singapore for more than 3 years (of which, at least one year as a PR); and have passed at least one national exam (i.e. PSLE, GCE ‘N’/‘O’/‘A’ levels), or are in the Integrated Programme (IP).

Completed PSLE in Dec 2023 and Took admission to Secondary School from Jan 2024
Girl also applied under same scheme, she completed PSLE in Dec 2022 and in Secondary 2 now.
