Probably 50-50 chance.

Why did you wait so long after getting PR to apply for SC? Usually you apply SC 3-5 years after getting PR.

Hello Mochs,

Thanks for your response. I was not aware sorry that usually better to apply within 3-5 years of getting PR hence did not proceed. I was thinking in my own mind that the longer we wait better it is as it shows commitment to stay in SG for a longer term and hence never applied for so long.
But looks like it does not works that way likely based on experts opinion and also based on experience of other members.

Thank you for the inputs. 1 more query i have is if both husband/wife have salary changed then against what option do we upload the new Gross Salary. I went on the portal and did not find any option where i can update our new Gross Salaries.

the system only gives an option to upload latest Salary slips. Does anyone knows how to update latest Gross Salary?

Regards,
Alok.

Can you not add it as an extra page in the same PDF?
Also if the salary increase is not significant, not much of use updating it.

Profile looks good, the only thing I can't wrap my head around is while you would wait so long before applying for citizenship.

Agree that the wait is odd, though I'd argue they have a pretty good chance of getting it. They're a family who's been here for nearly 15 years, with a son and public housing. Can't really tick too many more boxes.

Wow, 13 years is very far from 3 though. Depends how significant the change is, though the salary is very solid to begin with, so it really wouldn't make a huge difference.

This is great, very clear indication that you have sunk your roots here.

Hello Lisafuller,
Thanks for your positive vibes. 1 thing which i have no clear answer on is do they also check the account balance of applicants? For example in our case we have balance of around 400K in both our accounts combined. However what i am unsure if that if we do a Fixed Deposit from that money as the rates are quite good and also buy some stocks then is that counted as having low cash on hand etc or do these things really matter in terms of what applicants are doing with their money?

Because of the fear that if i invest in Stocks then savings account balance will show low and which in turn might impact the application outcome i have stayed away from investing in stocks. Though i may be un necessary overthinking for this.

The application form does not even ask for your bank account number in the first place.

While I agree with this, do you think only with bank account number things can be traced? Financial checks can be run if needed without your bank account number with other details that have been provided in the application.

As long as you don't have negative finance credit history/too much of loans, etc you should be ok.

The main applicant salary that you mentioned would be slightly short when they compare it with other applicants of your same ethnicity.

But considering other factors like kids in local schools, HDB, etc - I would feel you have 65-70% chance. You may lose little points due to age - Over 40. But I would not worry for that.

yes thanks thats where i was coming from that even though we never provide bank account number in application form but i was apprehensive of the fact that they might be doing some checks on financial health by checking on if huge loans on the NRIC or any negative credit history or other things which they might want to. After all we authorize them to allow them to check on our behalf from institutions.
