I have seen instances of dog owners not leashing their dogs and aggressively approaching people and other dogs unleashed. I find it quite a scary experience with a confrontational dog. Any idea how to approach such dogs or should they be reported to Nparks?

In my
condo, many dog owners walk their dogs unleashed. Even I do so, but only at night when there's nobody else out. My dog is a 5 kg mini poodle, who is very well trained and tame, so highly unlikely that something will happen. In a public park however, I would definitely keep him on a leash. If it's a larger, more aggressive dog, all the more they should be leashed. Incidents like this are difficult to report to Nparks, as dogs are much harder to identify than cars or other human beings.

Honestly, what do you expect AVA to do? Even if they rush over to remove the dog and owner immediately, both will be long gone by then. The best thing to do in a situation like this is to approach the owners and nicely ask if they could leash their dogs. Other than that, there's little that can be done, unless a rule is implemented.

abbby mispelled leash in her initial post (lease) but she's already corrected it.
