My boyfriend and i are thinking of getting married in Singapore.
I am a Singaporean and my boyfriend is working in the construction field.
He have tried calling up to check but was told the chance is very slim to get married to a Singaporean.
What can we do to marry in Singapore?
He wanted to change his current job but will need to go back to China and apply for new job to come into Singapore again. Is there a way he can stay in Sg without going back to China?
Thanks in advance!

1. get MOM approval before marry =>>> chances are very slim, if not approve, heard that he might be sent back to china
2. Marry in China and stay there. =>>> not sure if we can marry in China and convert? Not very sure of that.
new job in what pass? ==>>> have not found a new job, just checking around.
No. If he is on a WP he has no choice at the end of his contract. In fact I believe WP holders only get 7 days SVP at the end of their contract before they are repatriated by law (Employer pays for repatriation), but go, he must.ladyboss1 wrote: ↑Wed, 04 Jan 2023 10:05 amHi all, in need of help as there is very little information online.

It also greatly depends on where the male is coming from. Most western types who marry Asian or Singaporean girls do so not for the pass but for love (at least initially). Most Asian 3rd world country males marry locals for the potential of a long term pass to a country that is a step up from their own country, e.g., marriages of convenience.MOCHS wrote: ↑Wed, 04 Jan 2023 6:19 pmPeople used to say the same thing about female citizens sponsoring LTVP for foreigner husbands. That it’s unheard of since “the woman follows the man after marriage”. I successfully got LTVP for my foreigner hubby in the end and now he has PR.
As long you have full time salaried job, just try lah. What do you have to lose? He will only get sent back and barred from entering SG if he married you without MOM permission. No point worrying about an outcome if you never apply for the permission in the first place. Take it one step at a time.
Don’t forget that we ladies do have the potential to give birth to citizens. If they don’t approve, they risk losing a Singaporean overseas.
