Is medical check-up compulsory for all EP applicants?

Post by gotosingapore » Wed, 21 Dec 2022 8:25 pm

I heard divided info. MoM website says all EP applicants need to undergo a medical check up; whereas some agents inform that vast majority of EP applicants are exempt from a medical check up. Anyone can shed some light on it? Is the requirement at the discretion of MoM or the employer? Thank you

Good point LOL, though there are some members of the forum who have reported that they were not required to undergo any checks.

There are cases of applicants being exempt, though it would be best to take MOMs word as gospel.

It use to depend on where the applicant comes from. Most EP 's coming from western countries, unless they have a history of TB or one or two other diseases, usually they only need to sign a declaration of their health, but it is not a given. ICA/MOM could require it if they have a suspicion (this might have changed in the past 3 years, however, thanks to the ongoing pandemic. Most Asian country EP candidates will require a medical. I believe all S & WP passes applicants are required to do medicals.

Heard about that, not sure how they do things now given the impact of COVID. I feel like if anything they would have tightened checks.

I also suspect that may be the case as well.
