Laptop slow and freezing...whats going on??

I am currently using Laptop with XP home, service Pack 2, broadband connection, Advant Browser. Lately I am facing slow laptop performance and screen freezing. Prior to this, the laptop performance is very fast. What seem to be the problem. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not much information to go on... might be you are infected with adware, spyware, malware, or all three.

Have you downloaded and run Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy?

All free, good place to start.

A Google search will turn up URL's for these.

Also check out Microsoft home page adware killers.

All are safe to download.

It's those porn, free music, and free software sites that will get you every time.

I just donwloaded the Spybot and its GOOD!!!

All my pop ups are gone!!! woo hoooo!!!

Can Spybot helps prevent such wares from entering my PC again?

Yes... check out Spybot's Immunize feature.

Make sure you have done a download for the latest updates, then run Immunize... the stuff won't be allowed onto your computer anymore.

Gald the stuff worked.

Adaware and Spybot together are an unbeatable combination. One catches what the other doesn't. And Spybot lets you immunize so you don't get infected again.
