For the same rental
condo have much more amenities and acreage but it's all shared. Private
property is much more expensive and the acreage is usually only a postage stamp unless it was tiled over a well. But if you have a pool, plan on paying 5 digits a month probably closer to the 15~20K a month. Exercise room you can use a bedroom as spend as much as you like and will not have to wait on another user to finish with it.
My suggestion is to get a condo on one of the coastlines (East Coast out towards the airport will have less human traffic (although that doesn't mean deserted by any means. But it can put you on the beach or other locations where there are unleashed dog runs (I think there may still be one in Bishan Park but cannot confirm. This area is in the centre of the island but with
condos all around the perimeter of the park. That way having a way to exercise the dog and yourself will not be quite so onerous. I fear landed property will be outside of your budget at $8K. The way property rental prices are escalating at the moment, $8K might severely hamper your condo choices as well.

Where did the original post go?
From the user’s previous posts back in 2015, it looks like they are coming from Australia.
My advice would be resolutely… stay put unless the employer is willing to fork out 5 figure rental plus
International School for the two kids, at a minimum.

I've been offline for around 4 hours but I have no idea what happened to the thread. prior to my post. There was several posts from member as well correct? I've notified Pal to see if there is any way a backup was done but even if it was it was probably done yesterday so will still lose a portion if not all. This is a new one for me.

Well, I'm sitting here with
I don't know how unless I had several tabs open getting rid of spammers, at the time I posted my reply, but it would seem I was the one who deleted the user it one minute after my post (if the time stamps are correct. How I don't know but the logs don't lie. When I ban someone I automatically also ban the email and 'all posts' (spammers) so somehow I must have copied his user name and it was still loaded when I went to another tab. Apologies to all, in 18 years it's the first time that has happened.

If arvingd is able to see this post please accept my apologies. While I cannot retrieve deleted posts I was able to unban both your user name and your email address. If you can remember your post that I replied to, if you will repost it I will link/quote it in my original reply to you so as to basically salvage this thread. Again, keeping the board clean is a never ending and tiring job to say the least. S... happens occasionally. Thankfully not too often.

If I could afford it, a landed property on Sentosa would definitely be the dream. Super dog-friendly, though accessibility is a huge issue so it would have to be post retirement.

Sage advice. Living here as an Expat who expects to retain the same quality of life enjoyed in the home country necessitates having the employer foot much of the living costs.
