Local transactions aren't all feeless, Visa cards now charge processing fees even for local transactions (like using Grab).
This fee is charged by grab and some wallets(I think revolut also) for visa cards to recover the high merchant fees which visa charges grab. So here grab is charging the top up fee. If you want to use Grab for some reason and want to top it up with visa then it is not avoidable. But there is a much better way to top up Grab and that is using an Amex True cash back card or UOB absolute AMEX card, you get 1.5 and 1.7% cashback respectively.
Head over to MoneyMind credit cards section in HWZ, there is a treasure of information.
You won't believe me, the amount of free money I make using credit cards, funds all my discretionary spending lol.
Can't really understand why be so would do that though - when master, AMEX and all the other major credit cards don't charge any fee, people are going to stop using Visa.
I don't understand these neither. Reading through all these posts it sound to me like a huge hassle just to remember where on what to buy to save a few $$$. Besides, only occasionally visiting KFC and such and buying most of groceries online seems like a mismatch in the targeted areas.
I am using mostly citi cash back card for all my transaction and this cash back is like SGD80 each month without any sweat on my side, plus some extras from specific retailers like Amazon (e.g. $8-10 back from $100-120 spent).

Trust bank sucks. IF you're some miser like WD40 willing to spend hours dealing with it for a $25 bag of rice... go for it. If you're like me and hate dealing with anything more than 1 minute - forget it.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or

Too much information to remember which card for what expense. And I want to minimize the number of card holding.

Yeah, seems like a lot of hassle. The only cash back I go out of my way for is that on ShopBack, it's an app with deals that offers cashback.

The concept is interesting, but I just don't have the patience. And I am at a point where I like to streamline all of my expenses, which includes minimizing the number of payment methods I use.

Same here, in my younger days I had up to 10 credit cards at a time, since then I've cut it way down.

Ah yes, that's the word. Incels. They seem very angry and backwards.

I've got a UOB ladies card, AMEX for travel, and to pay for my purchases from the US, and a DBS platinum master for day today. Also have the NTUC visa for shopping because I collect points.

you mean OCBC NTUC Visa?
That VISA card will be cease by Next Jan.
It replace by TRUST CC.
That's why most of the NTUC member sign up TRUST CC.
some may be due to free rice (without know it is only 1kg), $25 NTUC voucher, etc.
But mainly.. we need to clock NTUC point.

therat,
are you talking about the normal linkpoints? if so. Do you phsically shop NTUC at all? Every receipt you get when you purchase something has the total linkpoints accumulated at the time of that transaction. Even split into categories of Expiry Date of Linkpoints.
