Hello all,
Would like to get some advise from y'all regarding this matter.
I'm a Malaysian, Singapore PR and have been working here in Singapore for almost 3 years. I'm getting married end of this month, October 2022 in Malaysia. My spouse is also a Malaysian.
Can my spouse apply for a job on her own in Singapore after we get married and obtain work permit? She have never gotten work permit so I do not think there is a need to apply for an approval for marriage. However, am more concerned about if she's able to come in after marriage and get a work permit on her own instead of waiting for a long term visit pass & LOC.
Thank you.

Technically, she can. But the chance of getting a job offer depends on her education, industry, skills, and work experience.

Her ability to get a job here is independent of any other factors, purely based on necessity and merit.

Right, there's plenty that goes into it. Even if she is qualified, she may get passed up for a local candidate as there are fewer hoops to jump through on the employer's end.

OP (anonymouz123) is coming from the perspective of the Permission from the MOM side of things, I believe. As she has never worked in Singapore he can marry her and bring her here. If she can find a job offer on a Work Permit, she can take it up on her own merits. She does not have to get an LTVP and/or LOC if she is qualified. Additionally there is no issue if they were married before she received a WP. She only needs the the MOM approval if she was single when she took the position on the WP. If married before, not a issue at all.
