All of the local banks have terrible credit card terms. All, for example, make you liable for ALL charges incurred up until you report the card stolen or lost... then some of them still make it their call as to whether you pay charges after you inform them. So, if you are on business in Indonesia and don't come home for 10 days, all 10 days worth of charges are yours.

Stick with Amex or your home denominated card for the best theft protection.

All banks have roughly the same wire transfer fees and exchange rates. If you are going to be doing very many, check out www.xe.com for the best rates.

DBS has the best ATM network. The QFBs ie Citi,HSBC ABN Amro etc are coming up with a shared ATM network. Amex does not have an ATM network although there are cash dispensing kiosks at several spots including the airport.

if you are looking for convenience of withdrawal, i suggest UOB or OCBC, because they have a shared ATM system. Although DBS have the most ATM machines around, all their machines always have a long quene simply because 98% of Singaporean banks with them.

In terms of credit cards points, i was told UOB have quite good credit cards benefits. For exchange rate, i was told MayBank have better foreign exchange rate, but I am not so sure about this because its hearsay from some of my banking frens.

Thanks all! That really helped.
I tryed UOB, but the queue for account opening nearly drove me mad!
OCBC was (a little) more efficient, so there I am now!
