Big business potential with Filipino professionals

Post by Boots » Wed, 06 Apr 2005 5:21 pm

I believe that their is a big business potential with Filipino professionals and their families working/residing in Spore just waiting to be explored.
Filipinos tend to network each other (old friends, colleagues, ex-classmates, relatives, etc) but it seems still a fragmented community though (in Spore I supposed). If they can be consolidated as consumers or business customers... it's HUGE... look what SingTel is doing now...hope u got an idea!
Any good idea HOW to explore it?

Depends on what you had in mind? yes there is potential. Will you just go after the professionals? how about the domestic helpers?

If doubt, don't join

the words "it depends" shows that a person have lots of reservation and those always have pessimistic point of view...in other words NOT SURE and have no focus or real answer.
to those who believe on this big potential venture....follow your dreams.

Business potential in Singapore

Hi Guys,

I applaude you for the entrepreneurial spirit you have. There are many untapped market in Singapore. many people always comment that Singapore is saturated. But hey, if you can identify a niche, you will discover a pot of gold.

if you notice, there are community of domestic helpers, philipino or other nationality. These community also have disposable income albeit not as much. But if you can just sell something they need/want like food from their country or origin, then there is potential money making business.
My point is a long as you have the entrepreneurial spirit, you should fan it, not bury it. continue to search for opportunity.

Well, that's just my thought.

By the way, if you are ready to set up the business, do email me. I am in the business of assisting start-ups from incorporating singapore company, accounting and tax planning and compliance to applying employment pass/work permit.

Hi all, i came across your dialogue in the expatriate forum website and i am glad i found a bunch of like minded people! I am also interested in setting up something for the pinoy community here in singapore. for starters, i want to set up a fortnightly/monthly pinoy exptriate newspaper soley for the pinoy community here. We could have guest writers from pinoy celebrities living in spore eg donita rose or just common folk recounting their experiences. I have links with the media back in manila where we can tap articles or local gossips for readers here in spore.
revenue can come from advertisments from pinoy based companies or even spore companies wanting to tap the pinoy market . Heck we can even get singtel to advertise with us and chrage them a arm and a leg!1 ha ha.
To establish businesses i think we first need a platform to market and this will be ideal. This will bring the pinoy community together becasue as one of you rightly put it, it is kinda fragmentated. I most certainly want to pursue this idea i have had for a long time seriously. I am just looking for like minded people to come aboard. Those who are interested, email me back and we can maybe meet up and discuss more!
