Any Phuket recommendations?

Would love to see some trip itineraries if anyone has some... Planning a 3 week honeymoon there and don't really know where to start!

Not knowing your budget and preferences would be hard to advise.
Phuket is to get spoiled mostly in a beach-like resorts with the comforts that the city can also provide. 3 weeks there would probably kill me. But if you want to stay within this area, I would spend one week in Phuket, one week in Krabi and one week in Koh Phi Phi. In Karbi and Phi Phi you can rent boats and do islands hopping. Unless something has changed, to Phi Phi you can get from Phuket by ferry, but it was also possible to get there and back by a hydroplane.

The only thing I didn't like about Phi Phi, no way to get the food done as for locals. It was always less spicy even if we emphasized we could take spicy food and liked it that way. This happened in basically all restaurants we visited. Or perhaps Phi Phi locals are not like the rest of Thailand? But I rather expect it's all made this way for tourists as most Westerners are not that keen to have spicy food.

The tourist areas in Phuket and surrounds have become impossible when it comes to accessing local food. I still recall one of my first trips to Phuket around 20 years ago — you still could find proper local Thai food in Patong not far from the main tourist strip.

Today? Not a chance. I even went as far as asking the hotel staff where they get their food. They said they have to bring their own food in from outside the tourist area. Isn’t that pathetic? They have become so tourist and money focused that they have lost the plot.

I think the more touristy the area the more the food is tempered to foreign tastes - this is the case with most of Phuket actually.

It's tough if you enjoy spicy food, but honestly I don't really mind it - sometimes I feel that having it non spicy allows you to taste the flavor better.

Inside is the Black Ginger restaurant, very atmospheric and the Thai food is gourmet - took some top doctors there for dinner and they were impressed. Go at night, make a booking.

If you find out, do tell. When I was in Phuket, about a month ago, I spent an average of 1000 to 1200 baht ($40-45 give or take) per meal for a family of three. And this was us ordering without holding back.
