PR application: asked for additional documents

Post by sgexpat8977 » Sun, 04 Sep 2022 10:37 pm

Hi All,

We applied for PR last year and just heard back from ICA. They are asking me to submit the last 6-month payslip and my wife's bachelor's degree certificates. For the payslip, should I just submit the payslip issued by my employer or can I also include the ones from the companies I consult? Both of these incomes are included in my tax bill.

Thank you for your help.

They care about the fixed monthly salary you mentioned. So your employer payslips. Are you allowed to consult in ep?

Hi all,
Have been a silent reader and wanted to share my PR journey. I disnt rush to reapply after 2nd attempt after gaining knowledge here and waited for a significant pay hike and promotion. Not sure if my divorce helpedas well as my salaray alone may have been deemed insufficient to support 4 people for attempt 1.

Female, Malaysian, 37y.o, B.Eng from Malaysia, MSc in Eng from UK, Divorced, 2 boys aged 11 and 9 (full custody with me, studying in Malaysia), Engineering Manager in Energy Industry, sgd 110k per annum.

PR approved in 3rd attempt(above status). Applied 24 Feb 2023--> 19 Jan 2024 ICA asked for additional 6 months recent payslip (salary increased by 6%) -->25 Jan 2024 appeared as approved.

PR second attempt in 2021: rejected after 20months, salary abour 88k per annum and position was Lead Mfg Engineer , still married but applied only for myself and my children. Divorce proceesings were in progress and updated ica in status change.

PR first attempt 2019: Rejected in 6months. Applied for myself, ex husband( indian citizen working in bangalore at the time), and children. Position Quality engineer and sgd72k per annum.

Thank you for thisnforum and Good luck to everyone waiting for your approval status.

Sorry second attempt rejected after 12 months. Not 20 months. Typo.

Similar situation, what did you submit? Any update on results?

Do you know how useless this is? Sharing half a dozen pieces of information about ethnicity, employment, children... is useless.

The success or failure of your PR application is based upon much more than what you submit in your application. You can be an Indian, on EP in Singapore for 6 years, married with 3 children, 2 boys, making $106,000 per year, with 2 trips home twice a year, never for more than two weeks. Your profile might look identical to the other guy, but his PR will be approved while yours is denied.

Why? Because there are a vast number of details that differ from you to him, and the ICA looks at as many of them as they can. And if they can't find out enough about you to be satisfied that you'd make a good PR, you won't get it, no matter what happened to the other guy.

See, you're trying to see if you match someone who got PR, right? What you forget is that lots of people who don't match you also get PR. Like me... white guy, age 54 when I applied, married, business owner, decent salary, grown children... and I got PR. How does that help you?

I understand the frustration when it seems challenging to find direct matches in PR profiles. It's important to recognize that every application is unique, and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) considers a multitude of factors during the evaluation process. While two profiles may share similarities, success or failure can hinge on various nuanced details that go beyond the information typically shared in forums.

However, the essence of these forums lies in fostering a community where individuals can exchange experiences and insights. While it might not be about finding an identical match, the diversity of profiles and stories can provide a wealth of information. By sharing challenges, successes, and strategies, forum members contribute to a collective understanding of the PR application journey.

These discussions become valuable repositories of advice and support, helping others gain insights into the complexities of the process. So, while direct comparisons might be challenging, the broader discourse in forums serves the purpose of creating a supportive space where individuals can learn from one another's experiences and navigate the PR application journey more informed and prepared.

@peacemaker, I'm having a hard time writing and laughing at the same time so I'll make it short. Your first paragraph is spot on with what most of us old-timers have been saying for over a decade or two. But the second & third? You should change your nick from peacemaker to politician.
