My parents told me BLS only accepts cash and that was when they went to renew passport back in 2020. Is it still the same now?

Off the top of my head, yes they accept cash. Maybe NETS as well but don't bet on it. I think they mention it in their website. I don't recall a temporary IC. The oath taking date I believe is technically the day that you are confirmed to be a Singapore citizen (with the same IC number assigned when you became a PR). Before that you would have already renounced Indian citizenship so you will effectively be stateless for a few days.

Update: Went for BLS at CBD area. Its cash. No credit no debit. Price list on BLS website doesn't match the price they ask. Paid $213. Took me about an hour to settle everything. Surrender cert when they ask for ur parents name, put the exact name that is written in your passport. For example if the name is Trisha K, write it as Trisha K. Only renunciation cert write the entire name unless ur parents passport is the same as Trisha K. Quite funny to see this cuz i had to redo one cert. Prep urself with a 2x2 pic or u can take one over there. $5. If u alrdy have one, don't paste it and let the officer do for u. I have an Indian IC but idk what to do with it and they say don't need to give anyone. Now just waiting for courier.
The counter person is very nice and will help u and answer ur questions. His name is Prem. I used OCBC and the ATM is at first floor. Also the lift to BLS is at the office lifts, near security area. Floor 30. I panicked when i couldn't find the lift but luckily i did thanks to the security.

@Mysticz ,I presume the Indian IC that you are referring to is the Aadhar card? If so, keep it - there are plenty of reasons why you might need it!
On a similar note, my wife still has her Malaysia MYKad.

Noted will do.
Do you remember how fast you got the courier? That's where u can upload the cert onto ICA rite? I have to be at home personally to sign rite?

Nope. Can't recall, but it was fairly quick. I think my wife was at home when the courier reached home.

Hi @Mysticz Upon completing the Singapore Citizenship journey, how long did it take for you to receive the final approval letter from ICA? Some posts here say that the approval letter comes the following day or after a couple of days? Was that your experience as well? Thanks!

Eh.... The letter from the Indian High commission should reach you in approx a week from what I recall. Unless something has changed.

Thats what i thought after asking the person at high commission and saying it will take 8 working days. I got a acknowledgement email the very next day but i can't submit it as its not signed. I need to contact BLS about this

I did my formalities in BLS yesterday and they ask me to go for an interview to High Commission of India Singapore. Did you do the same ? What can we expect during an interview ? I never see any post regarding interview in High Commission.

^^^i second that... I used the IPA letter date.
The date should be the latest ICA letter date meaning once you completed all the 3 stages, you will receive an letter from ICA to renounce the citizenship and appointment for oath taking.
By following this post, I put the initial IPA letter date and the BLS person ask me to redo the form and I end up paying 10 SGD to fill this up.
