Hi, I received a job offer from Singapore and thinking whether to accept it or not. The monthly salary is SGD 7500.
If I accept the offer, I will be moving to SG with my wife and 1.5 years old baby, so there is a lot to consider specially childcare, child's education and accommodation.
Do you think 3 of us can live with this salary?
Thank you.

To be honest, no one can answer this. There are people who can live with 5K for 3 people and people who need 10-15K for 3 people. It depends on the quality and way of life that you follow.
Accommodation HDB - min 3K (whole unit)
Take that into consideration

Will need a lot more information to be able to give a useful answer. Where are you planning to live? Do you want a car? Where are you moving from?

Exactly. Whether or not a sum of money is livable is very subjective. Although I will say it is certainly possible to manage on far less.

To be fair though they would not enjoy the same quality of life as a family that was smaller and living on much more. I think there’s definitely a difference between managing and thriving.

Who's to say? It's highly subjective.

That’s what I just said. My point is just that in spite of the subjectivity, it’s a fact that it’s possible to make do on less than $7,500 a month.

rents: HDB rent's probably $2k+ up,
condos $3k+ up per month
childcare: $1,000 - $1,600 on average/month
Minimally, I would think rent (cheapest) and childcare is approximately $3.5k - $4k per month. Not including food and transport.

Agree. Food and transport should add up to another $800-$1000, conservatively speaking.

It would appear that JeffV may not be what he/she claims to be. Both Lisa and I before her requested more info regard nationality or last place living and haven't gotten any response to either query. A check on his IP addy would indicate that it's coming from Sri Lanka and the email username is indigenous to Sri Lanka AND there has been no response from said poster 3 days since his only post, I'm locking this thread so we don't waste any more time here.

Hi,
I recently received a job offer of S$115,000.
I have an 8 month baby, and a wife to support.
I also earn bonuses which vary from 0-S$5,000...

The housing portion of $4,000 takes up quite a proportion of your salary, unless the bonuses are definite, maybe less restaurant meals and more home...
