Yes, caught! I thought they ended up in Thailand but so near JB ... probably no on wants to pick them up after the other 2 drivers got caught.
Yup, perhaps they were on the way back to meet someone close to home. Stupid either way.

The general Internet view is that they were donned in by a Thai contact whom they'd spoken too.
But who could they have spoken to?

On the other hand, all it may take is a single login to a social media account including the ads tracing scripts and such. It requires some educated effort to stay under the radar.
Same applies to cell calls/texting. Even if they use in JB someone else mobile, a call from Thailand from her friend or family member can yield in enough clues narrowing down location by the BTS used in JB.
In most of the true time documentaries I’ve watched, when criminals have truly wanted to stay under the radar they dumped their phone right away because anytime it is used the pings off the cell towers can lead anyone tracing the device to the location of the device user. I doubt they would’ve had the foresight to do that so this is highly possible.

Apparently, they got played out by their thai accomplices who gave them away.

I think it's a shame they got caught. The real scum here are the greedy, vain, stupid people who thought they could save a few bucks on overpriced crap. It makes me sick that someone would pay 100k on a tiny watch (which they'll never use) while they have slave labour cleaning the sides of the road.

I don't see the logic of paying for something you don't see...if you don't see it to buy it, don't buy.

Right, they took a risk so they shouldn’t be too surprised that this happened.

That’s certainly a hot take, I don’t think there’s ever an excuse to steal from others, however materialistic they may be.

I read that too, now I’m wondering if their accomplices were caught as well.

That's how online shopping works too - it's based on trust. Or naivete.

I guess, in part what he's saying is that they paid the price for their own greed.

My understanding is that luxury brands push up their prices by tightly restricting supply and stock levels. People who are materialistic and judge each other by brands compete to obtain these products in order to ascertain bettter mating rights with the alpha male and female.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or

Right, but I guess this was a little different since many of them were “loyal” customers who knew them personally.

That may be true, but it doesn’t negate the fact that what was done was incredibly wrong.

True, the desperation to get these luxury items can push people really far.
