Thanks, Anyway, I trawled through more of the forum, apologies for flogging the dead horse on this.

I've just had so many agency "free consultations" so wanted to get a gist about why they're still selling this idea in 2023. They seemed to know what they're on about, but the more services they talked about, the more snake oil-ish they sounded. The idea of getting an NGO to fill out a timesheet to verify community integration seemed suspicious to say the least.

However, the general research I hear is that social integration matters. If there is no cover letter or supporting documentation, then how is this assessed?

Notwithstanding that, how do my chances look?

-- ICA will not disclose this, else everyone will start to do this to get PR.

Low chance as of what I see.
Great thanks, I was thinking that if these agencies have a lot of clients, there'd be a lot of insincere "volunteering" going on just for the sake of a PR application. Which would be a shame if it meant that people sincerely contributing to SG are also falling through.

In my case, what may be the + and - factors, and what would you recommend doing to strengthen up my profile?

Dear friends, it has been more than 6 months since I applied for PR for a second time as written above. Your support has been invaluable in my journey so far. My question to you is, since ICA says that the normal processing time is 6 months, do you think I should write to them to check in on the status? Is this a positive sign or just BAU? My thoughts are - I dont think I should reach out, let things take its own course, also its BAU - cant infer any signs from this so far. However, I would really like to hear the thoughts of experienced friends in this group.
Thanks a lot for your advice as usual :)

6 months processing time is very very short for PR processing. Please wait patiently upto 24 months max.

None from this group can say - yes or no to infer from the processing time of the application. Processing time has 0% relation to the outcome of the application.

Hi all,

just wondering if anyone can give opinion on my planned PR application. I applied back in 2017 but was withdrawn due to career relocation.

Nationality: Indonesian
Race: Chinese
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Marital status: Single
Total Length of Stay in Singapore : 10 years and 7 months (10 years until 2017 + 7 months starting Jan 2023)
Education: Bachelor's Degree from NUS + local Singapore-Cambridge A level cert from a local Integrated Programme secondary/JC
Pass: EP (in 2017, and in 2023)
Occupation: Digital Product Manager
Professional Journey: 1 year in SG as a fresh grad + 5 years overseas working for a Singapore-affiliated companies + 6 months in SG for an American MNC. Been 3 years in tech and previously 2 years in banking.
Salary: Basic 140k/annum + Bonus

I've been active in various clubs and association even before in 2012-2017 (when I was still a student in NUS and working as a freshgrad here), 5 years hiatus, and just started picking up activities in various associations only recently.

Trying to give PR application another shot, but pretty worried of my chances.

60:40 for. I wish you luck. But be advised that you time here stopped when you left and it's not considered accumulative, only consecutively counts so you might be looking at another 1.5 years. Working for charities etc, is no longer a thing as too many have abused this and left many organizations short of staff after the applicants got what they needed for their application. Now, it's almost a stigma if you have a lot of 'volunteering' for say 2 years prior to your application. But all done prior to you departure for 5 years is null & void now at any rate.

Figured I would share my timeline and background, I received my approval notice on 24/07/2023.

My particulars:

Nationality: USA
Race: Caucasian
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Marital status: Married (Chinese Singaporean Spouse)
Children: 2 Both Dual SG/USA Citizens
Total Length of Stay in Singapore : 1 Year 3 Months
Education: Master's Degree (University of Chicago)
Pass: LTVP April 2022 - Feb 2023 then EP from Feb 2023 - Present
Occupation: HR Manager
Professional Background: 7 years for the US Government (Human Resources)
Salary: ~9k/month + 30k annual bonus.
Previous PR Application: Oct 2019 (Still living in the USA) rejected sometime mid 2021.

Background: US citizen, met my SG spouse in 2012, married in the USA in 2016. We lived together in the USA and had two boys (one in 2019, and another in 2021). When my first son was born, we got him dual SG/US citizenship and I applied for PR for the first time while still living in the USA. As you can imagine that application was denied ~18 months later due to not living and working in SG. We did the same for my youngest he is dual US/SG.

We ultimately wanted to raise our kids in SG due to closeness of my spouses parents, better schools and ability to have a helper. My spouse is a software engineer and works for an MNC. The opportunity to get out relocation paid for and transfer to SG came up for her and we moved to SG in April 2022. I went the LTVP route and found a job with a SG company making around 9k/month (my background is HR).

I applied for PR again 24/10/2022 like exactly 6 months after arriving. Complete radio silence until today application approved. ~9 months from application to approval.

^ Congrats but I don’t know why you bothered wasting money in 2019 when you weren’t physically in SG at all. If it were that easy for people to apply for PR while overseas, many will be taking advantage of it and there will be an uproar.

Just because you’re married to a Singaporean doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed SG PR while living anywhere in the world lol.

Actually it has happened several times. One of which was a long time member of this board. Do a Search for 'Saint' He and his Sg wife were living in the UK (he's a Brit, her SGC) applied for PR from the UK and received it. I believe he was a Marine Insurance Adjuster working for Lloyd's of London at the time but I might be wrong. So if you have something they really want or need, they will make it work as they always leave a side door for them to accomplish what it considered verboten normally on the websites..

Gender : Male
Marital Status : Single
Religion : Buddhist
Education : Bachelor of Computer Science
Current Field of Work : IT - Software Developer
Length of Experience: 6 years
Length of stay : from December 2021 (almost 2 years).
Already work in this current company from June 2021 - Now(2 years)

Apply after 2-3 years and you will be good. Applying Now will be too early for you.

They see the application as a whole and not just based on one factor. if your new job is better, stable and you are long enough in the job it can be a +.

Concur with singapore flyer. There is no one factor that is influential enough to outweigh everything else. Decisions are made based on a combination of factors, in other words, an overall evaluation of your profile.
