Seeking Advice/Thoughts on our PR Failures

Post by Sonshine » Thu, 14 Jul 2022 11:03 am

Hi All,

I have been following this forum for more than 2 years, it is indeed soper useful :)

Below is our profile, Please pour your thoughts/advice why we have been constantly failing in attempting SPR.

Main Applicant: Husband
Age : 39
Race: Indian
Years in Singapore - 13 years (Since 2009)
Pass : EP
Role: Senior Residential Technical Officer(In a construction Company)
Qualification: B.E in civil (India)
Salary: 100k(13 ys Experience)
PROF Certificaitions - Handful of Certifications from Local training centers.

Dependent Applicant: Myself (Wife)
Age: 32
Race: Indian
Years in Singapore - 12 years (Since 2010)
Pass : EP
Role: Application Support Analyst/Data Analyst
Qualification: Master of Science from NTU, Singapore
B.E (India)
Salary : 80k (8 yrs Experience with 2 yrs Maternity break (i was away from SG for 10 months))
Addon: Share holder in a small IT start up services (from 2021)
My father is a SPR residing in Singapore for more than 17 years (No propery here, since mother and sister are in India), Nominated his 100% CPF to me in 2021.

Child - Son, 4 years old studying N2 in SG.

We had a single individual attempts before marriage and it failed.

After Marriage (after 2014), we have applied as below and touch down with failures.

Feb 2015 - Rejected within 6 months.
Aug 2016 - Rejected within 6 months
Dec 2020 - Rejected Jun 2021
Dec 2021- Rejected Jun 2022 (In this attempt, i was the MAIN applicant, we tried this way, but not helped indeed!)

Please pour your thoughts/Suggestions, trying to learn whether WE can improve our Graph for any SPR success.

PS - We have been voluteering red cross/got testimonials from Colleagues/Friends/nice Cover letters
all were tried and no Luck!

NOTE: And also My father has applied for Family PR in 2009 ( When i was in india), but he got reply from ICA saying that apply after 2 years, by that time i have crossed 21 in that 2 years gap.

TIA!

.

The family income is bit low for Indian family. Don’t think investments and volunteering Carries any weight .

Also I think In your Case ICA has access to lot of family information. My 2 cents , The optics isn’t in your favour. Your father has PR and yet he hasn’t moved his family to Singapore in last 17 years would weaken your case too .

1. The salary seems to be on the lower side for you and your wife. A 32 y/o data analyst usually earns a lot more than that. Then bringing it in the context of the Indian slots, you do fall behind significantly in terms of income.

2. Your father not becoming a citizen probably weighs negatively on you. Since he surrendered his CPF to you also, ICA is more likely to see you as a flight risk. There is very little to suggest you want to sink roots in this tiny red dot.

3. Volunteering and Letters are really outdated at this point in time. This has been abused beyond belief, especially with those "Immigration Consultancies" that offer to make you fake ones. I attended a few seminars and was shocked to hear the level of cheating and abuse of the system. Crazy.

I am not really sure what to advise at this point in time. Is there a particular reason why you want to permanently live in Singapore instead of anywhere else?

Hi,

1. We will work on that part, but few of our known profile got it with salary range 150 - 200k after 10 - 12 years of living here.
2. May be, Father haven't tried to became citizen honestly, He haven't surrendered the CPF to me, he just nominated his 100% share to me. I am just a nominee.
3.Oh really thought volunteering would help.

I have posted here to learn our profile lackings, would try to improvise it.
We wish to settle here as we love living here, so trying hard to get PR.
Thanks for the response :)

I re-read your post.

"Nominated his 100% CPF" --> Do you mean he put your name in his CPF nomination.
If yes, Then this one no weight too.
CPF nomination is basically like WILL.

The honest truth is that even if you improve your salary, you will still struggle because there is stiff competition among Indians. Additionally, you have the added baggage of your father's lack of "loyalty" towards Singapore. Nothing in your profile signals to the ICA that you are committed to Singapore or even integrated here.

If I were in your position, I would work on a plan B in the form of looking at other countries which could be more welcoming.

Hi Smoulder,
Yes absolutely the struggle is going to be real.
Honestly my father is in low income category, when he moved to sg he was already 42+, so he was not in the position to move the entire family here, thats the truth.

Anways, thank you for an open response, i will be keep on trying and will be staying in SG as long as possible.(thats the plan b actually😂)
😀
