Only those in super high level positions might get education & housing allowance. Generous allowances for multiple stuff are a thing of the past now.

Ordinary lower level ones probably get help with the initial relocation fee & plane ticket to SG. Maybe some are able to negotiate for an annual plane ticket back home but after that, they’re on their own.

Housing allowances are quite common for expats.
Nope they are not. They are few and far between nowadays. Most foreigners get posted here on local terms, whatever that may be for the role and level that they are filling.
Sounds like we have very different experiences, most of my friends who are expats are either European or American and have come to Singapore with their children’s education being paid for, along with some housing allowance that allows them to be able to afford to rent landed properties in the Thomson & Woodlands area.
It's not my experience. It's pretty well known that there aren't as many such packages being given out these days.

They seem to be very talented people.
That’s for sure, at least if salary is an indication of expertise.

Yup, my friends that I was referencing are all pretty high up in their respective companies and have been at the roles for sometime now. They definitely get a lot of perks that not every expat has the luxury to receive.

Fair enough, It’s just my experience that most of my friends here have come in on pretty comfy packages.
