I do agree that frequently changing jobs can be good for one's carer. Advising against 'job-hopping' sounds like an idea from the previous century. What's more... the most loyal employees are sometimes the most useless ones. They stay in the same company because they know that they don't have any better option.
Not just that, the ones who stupidly stay in the same position when it offers them no real prospect of upward advancement tend to stagnate in their careers while those who are smart enough to job hop do much better for themselves.
I don't really think it's stupid. Some people would rather stay in the same job because of their values and priorities. They don't care about career progress or earning more money, they are ok with what they do and where they are. If it works for them - they might be happier in life than some people who are constantly trying to chase new goals, have high expectations, and always end up disappointed with things.

Totally fair. What I was referring to was a situation in which career progression and salary increases are the goal - if this is the goal, staying at the same job is not going to do very much to help you achieve it.

Thank you all for taking your time and helping me with immense positivity and guidance. I feel more positive myself now. I was literally having a very stressful time thinking about it and feeling like I have lost my whole career. I seriously needed these positive vibes and some confidence that comes with it.
I cannot thank you all enough... I am so glad I found this forum!
