Yes, i will have to re-think on our priorities. Meanwhile we were thinking to Purchase our First property in here and to see if that could make any difference to our individual chance to get SPR or SC in her case.
But seems like we will be unable to account for my salary unless we are going with 99/1 rule which only work for new projects and not resale condo. So in a way the recent Rejection had very big impact to our decision to continue our stay in SG and purchasing a House in here.
Do you suggest drafting an appeal letter with all the scenario might help in any way ? i have not come across any Post in here wherein the Application Status was overturn after the appeal. Any Thoughts ?
Sadly, it is my gut feeling it has, like just about every other thing the government gives in good faith, been totally abused by your countrymen (I don't like singling out a demographic but sadly the misdeeds are there for all to see. The PEP originally was for 5 years. after about two years it was reduced to 3 years. All was well for a while but the abuse was still there. When Covid started PEP applications from Indian Nationals on EPs with good salaries were applying like it was free candy being handed out. Most of them are going to probably get a shock when their PEP is in the last year and the employer wants to cut their way too high payrolls. PEP is only ONCE. after that you need to convince the employer they need another EP holder. Might not fly as no notice needed by the company if they will not or can not apply for a NEW EP. So to answer your question, No, I don't think it's a good idea. You may get burned. Oh, another thing to think about is the reason for the PEP. It allows the holder to not have to leave the country after 30 days (and leave they must when its an EP/S pass) and then return to hopefully find another job because the former employer understands that the PEP was designed so the employee could change jobs (high level jobs often take many months to finalize not a week or so). Do you want to signal to your employer that you are 'on the market'? As a former HR Mgr of a 250 employee group of companies I see things in a different light than most on here.
