1) In terms of culture ?
2) Compensation for VP and above ? Expat benefits
3) Long term career ?

the local banks are generally ruled by local management who can be abit conservative n stubborn. the culture there can be quite different becoz the chinese mentally is quite unique bcoz they often associate number of working hours to performance, instead of actual results.

nevertheless, there had been alot of management movement across banks, ie from foreign banks (HSBC, Citi, SC) to local banks. local banks had become more aggressive and result-oriented, but not forgetting that the majority of the management had been around for a zillion years, so things wont changed overnight despite enormous effort.

working environment in foreign banks are often better but then again, if the pay is good, go for it.

Which area u refering to? Treasury, corporate banking, private banking etc??? It makes alot of diff for diff area.
