I am a Senior Software Developer in Angular JS and I have 8years of experience.
I am from India and earn 36LPA (Before taxes) and have been offered 190k SGD per annum.

I don't have any idea on living standards in Singapore, in fact this could the first time I have ever set my foot on foreign soil. I have done some online research about rents and cost of living there and understand that is a costly place. I am a bachelor. I have seen posts on other websites but they are on average 4years old questions and I think the inflation is different in 2022.
None of the sites like Quora or Reddit are giving any insights rather giving personal opinions and judgements.

Any help in providing some insights could be a massive help to me.
More than good salary for 8 years of experience.

Sure it is. I can’t comment if I don’t know the life style. I know people who pay 96k rent and 40-50k in fees. Can’t save much on this after after taxes.

Check prices on Numbeo, add ~25% for rent (because now the rental prices are crazy) and ~5% for the other costs (because of inflation)
Living in Singapore can be cheap if you don't have a family, don't drink alcohol, don't drive a car, don't take taxi everywhere, don't buy clothes here, and most important: don't fall victim to lifestyle inflation

If my rough conversion is correct you are currently earning around 64~65K SGD per year. You are being offered 190K SGD per year.
If you use Numbeo the figures are geared primarily for western expats
If you are from other Asian Countries it will vary on your lifestyle.

I think what people haven't touched on here is that in India, you have a much higher tax rate. Also much higher inflation. So these two will eat into your spending power.

But aren’t living costs disproportionately lower?

Not exactly. They are quite proportional to what you would earn.

190 is a lot, more than enough in fact, considering you’re a bachelor. Use this precious time to build up your savings so that you’ll have finances to fall back on in times of need/if you ever decide to start a family.

Yes but without any kids/spouse to support, it’s a good chunk of cash. Must be living like a king with all that disposable income.

More often than not the employer will pay for rent and school fees (part of the package).

How accurate are the figures online? My impression is that they tend to be inflated so not accurate to rely on.

So a foreigner working in India would draw a much lower salary to account for the lower COL?
