AIG is not going to provide their Global Health insurance any longer. They "arranged" an option to transfer their current insurees to Cigna, however, it seems it may not be like a transparent, smooth transfer but still a subject to full or partial medical underwriting. Now I wonder what about people with medical conditions that were developed during the AIG insurance. Is there any legal protection of the insured person for this sort of situation? In other words, can AIG just says, well, we are not going to carry on with our med. ins. business any longer, you may go to Cigna if you want (we may "help" you a bit with it) but to accept your current medical conditions is at their complete discretion?
