Does anyone have recent experience on how long DP/LTVP(parents) is taking? Thanks.

Hi Nycsing, we put in my husband’s application for LTVP on 18 April. Till today it’s still receiving attention by ICA, into the 7th week. We even did the PMLA and had a valid LLE before applying. Hopefully we here positively soon.

How long is a piece of string? If you know the answer to that, then you know how long it will take.

Let me share my experience:

1) Applied the LTVP for my wife on 18 Mar 2022. We did the PMLA in December 2021 and ROM in Jan 2022.

2) Received LTVP (IPA - pending documents) on 13 May 2022. So, it was an almosy 2 month wait from application. ICA only requested her to sign the Terms and Conditions Of Issue of LTVP form. We submitted the document on the same day. We expected the next stage should be very soon, but ... it was an almost 2 weeks wait.

3) Received LTVP (IPA - pending payment) on 26 May 2022. Made the necessary payment on the same day, and then we can select the date for the completion of formalities. The earliest possible date was 23 June 2022.

4) Once in a while, I would login to the ICA website to check for any earlier dates for the completion of formalities. I was able to bring forward to 21 June 2022. However, my wife's visit pass will expire on 6 June. Thus, we went down to ICA on 4 June 2022 to appeal to complete the formalities. It was a success and able to get the LTVP on 4 June 2022.

Sorry maybe I wasn’t clear, this is MoM DP processing (LTVP for parents) not ICA LTVP. Normally dependent passes on my EP have come through in 24 hrs. I applied for my parents and while my dad got his approval in 24 hrs, moms application is pending for more than a week. I know standard processing time as per MOM is 3 weeks but I have never seen dependent passes taking so long so was just wondering.

Hey there. About point 4, do you mean you did a walk in on June 4th to complete the formalities without any prior email to them? If so, could you let me know what day and time did you go and how long did it take? Thanks in advance!

^ It means they logged in onto the ICA website and saw an earlier appointment date. So they managed to change it to an earlier date. Depends on luck on whether someone has a last minute cancellation.

But the earlier appointment date they got was still 21st of June and they went on the 4th of June which is still ahead of their appointment.

My mistake, their post is a bit old and I don’t remember all members info and re-read.

So they just walked in. You can do that too. Don’t worry so much and just queue before door opens.

You can walk in, just go very early and queue. Even if it’s unsuccessful, it’s worth a try.

Does the sponsor have to be there I assume?
I think that's the bit that makes it more challenging if it takes 3/4/5 times
