Hi. I have previously placed a post querying Psychologist Salary in Singapore. I am wanting to apply for jobs there. Problem is employers request a statement of salary expectations. This is different from NZ. The Singapore Psych Society sent me a range from S$ 2000-5500/mth. I have a specialised post-grad diploma and MA, which is better qualified than most jobs I have seen. I have only one years experience in this role (but 7 years training) and this salary seems a little low. The salary on the link commonly cited here is circa $2500. My salary in NZ is $NZD $55k per annum and due to rise soon - this equates to S$66K pa or s$5500 per month.
Even with tax differences I feel I would be selling myself short requesting a salary of less than $S4800 per month. Also, I read frequently that employers there greatly value expats. So should I ask for more?
Your comments greatly appreciated
thanks
