PR Approval Chances 2022

Post by kimsh422 » Mon, 18 Apr 2022 4:48 pm

Hi everyone!

Trying to get a view on my PR application approval chances here. Would like some insights on the probability of success:

Age: 27
Ethnicity: Korean
Pass: EP
Education: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (NUS), Master of Science in Quantitative Finance (SMU)
Job: Banking Front Office
Experience: 3+ (almost 4 now)
Salary: 70K+
Time in Singapore: 20 years
Marital Status: Single
Etc: Parents are PR as well, running stable business with high income. Parents own 2 properties in SG.

Basically I've lived in SG for my entire life taking PSLE, O/A Levels with good grades and finished my MOE Tuition Grant Bond as well last year. I applied once in 2020 but was rejected after 6 months and I reapplied in Oct 2021. I emailed ICA a few weeks back and they said that they have forwarded the case to the office in charge but I am not sure if that means something positive or it's just a standard reply. I thought I was going back to Korea so I rejected PR once in my secondary school days but now I plan to settle in SG and naturalize (hopefully). Hoping to get a PR this time. Thanks for the input guys!

Forwarded to case officer means SENT to case officer. Does not mean anything positive or negative.

If your parents are PR and you have rejected it once - chances are not going to be easy anymore.

wait and see for the outcome this time. if rejected again, it is going to be the same in future too.

Hi! Thanks for the input.

Will it change anything if my parents naturalize to SG citizenship? I didn't really "reject" them directly they just asked if I wanted PR and I said no back then, but I too assume this is holding my application back now.

Even if they naturalize to SG citizenship, it may not apply to you as you are over 21 years and are considered independent. So, you won't get citizenship by descent.

From now you have to get PR or SC on your own merits.

They asked - if you want PR - you said No or not replying back - This is considered rejecting the offer for PR.
