Have a try. Keep low hopes. Reason PM is a job that's easily available in Sg and lot of local talent. You are competing directly against them

Hi guys, I submitted my PR application 5 months ago under the PTS scheme (my own Singpass login). I did not know about the different schemes then and was wondering if there's a way to change the application for the Family Ties scheme (I've been married to a Singapore Citizen for 2 yrs+). And if it's even worth trying to switch it in the first place?

Other details for reference:
- Malaysian Chinese, 31
- Wife is Singaporean Chinese
- Lived in Singapore since 2015, EP holder in Finance
- Ivy league grad
- 340k / yr
In your case you will get it on your own. If rejected reapply after 6 months under family scheme
I concur. The application will have your wife's particulars there already and you already tick enough boxes to get it without it, technically. Her SGC would have been noted on the PTS application as well, I believe. If it was not, then just email ICA with that information and indicate that you forgot to include the info at the time of your original application. You are a shoe-in anyway.

Thanks for your feedback.
To add on some information. Have applied two time in past and application was rejected in 6 months each time. Third attempt is in progress from last 8 months. Considering current PR approval scenarios, is 8 months waiting period normal?
sorry for my limited knowledge. Appreciate your advice, if any.

We have even seen waiting periods of 17-24 months. Compared to that 8 months is very short.

^ You applied too soon after marriage and it could be seen as a marriage of convenience, that’s why rejected. Should have waited for 2 years of marriage to have higher chance.

See if you can improve salary before re-applying next year. What gender is your baby? If boy, it’s favourable chance…

The baby is already Singaporean. Why does the baby's gender matter then for the mother's PR?

Marriage of convenience - I'd think the fact that they have a baby together now should remove those doubts.

^ There are also divorced foreign spouses in S’pore with SC kids. Long time ago, such convenience cases married SCs and had SC kids, got PR, then divorced.

If baby is male, usually favorable chance ‘cos there’s a new citizen that can serve the country.

Gender of baby does not matter here. Kid is SC and serving does not have any impact on mother's application. 2 years after Marriage very high chance of getting PR.

Upon submission of the application, there will be a 6-month waiting period of the result. Currently, it is October, 6 months from now it will be 2 years and 1 month since we were married. Would this be a good time to reapply?

Reapply in 1 year from date of rejection would be good. Why the rush ?

We are trying to have a second child. The healthcare subsidies will be available if she is a PR.

^ Many people want PR for subsidies and ICA is aware of that. You have to show ICA that you are financially independent to be able to survive without the subsidy (for now).

Subsidies are just a bonus, it’s not a right.
