My PR got rejected today, on a Sunday, exactly after 4 months. It was pending as of yesterday. So it confirms my theory that for some people, they know right at the time of application that this person is a rejection candidate, yet they don't want people to game the system, hence they would set a timer to reject in 4 to 6 months. I am pretty sure no human even saw my application. The entire thing is automated to reject, unless some very few people come through from their selection criteria.

Anyways, I had pretty much zero hopes. I just take things 1 year at a time, my EP expires end of this year, so that is the max visibility I have. If my EP gets renewed then I plan and budget for next year. Otherwise just go back to home sweet home.

Sorry to hear that but you are a winner, you made your million + and can retire in india when you want comfortably.
Someone said here the new PR is EP, getting an EP renewed prolly is going to be tough in 2023/2024.. anyone has any thoughts on that?
In my view, if you are already here and if you run your data with the EP Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) and it if is ok, you are mostly OK for EP renewal.

Yes bro I am worried what should I do.
I have no ties in india,no house, nothing..
This is a broootal fact for me,
On top of that my company is not doing well recently .. everything looks gloomy and tough at this time. I am having sleepless nights, lets hope and pray things get better.
Hang in there buddy. Your skills is what defines you at the end of the day. Work on your skills. I am pretty sure you are good at what you do if you are making 180k. Do a proper research on how is the job market for your industry/skills and which locations are best and then develop a proper game plan. Do a lot of networking on linkedIn and see who your peers are and which countries and companies they work. Find out if there is a gap in your skillset or whether you should reskill in some other related area.

So in summary, as long as your skills are with you, nobody can takeaway from you what you deserve. If not Singapore, some other country will value you.

All the best!

My rejection letter just came through in the mail. This time the wording is different from last time.

last time it was someting along the lines of ,"We reviewed your profile it was unsuccessful, we look at lot of factors like economic contribution, integration etc and base our decision on that"

This time it is ""We reviewed your profile it was unsuccessful, if your circumstances change please apply again"

I am 43 already, how can my circumstances change in any positive way from here? :?

The criteria is tightening from Sep 2023. I just checked in the SAT tool, with my current salary of 10k, I will get only an S Pass, since I am already 43. In order to get an EP, I need to get 11.3k. That is like a 13% hike, there is no chance I will get that much hike. So it looks like I will get an S Pass for the 1st time in my 13 years stay. I dont know how it will be different from an EP for me. My employer is a bank, so quota is not a problem they have majority of locals and EP holders are fewer mainly in IT dept.

I just did the SAT and it says I will be eligible for a renewal in 2024 when the pass expires..
I am 44 next year. Believe that renewal for passes for people who are around a long time will not be a problem..?

Got the same reply last time at rejection. We had change of circumstances ( and last one for foreseeable future ).. had a baby boy . Change of jobs with 30% hikes etc . Application pending for 9 months. Will update the forum.

Well, theoretically being here for a long time is a negative. They want foreigners to come here and transfer their knowledge to locals. So that's why they have this salary criteria which goes up with age. The idea is to make the employer consider hiring and training a local or pay up higher salary to retain a foreigner.

In your case your salary is already very good so it shouldn't be a problem, as long as your employer is willing to pay you the top dollar.

^ We have seen PR applications take up to 24-27 months to process. Just give ICA time and don’t pester them.

You didn’t mention how long you’ve been married, the ages of yourself + family members and how long you’ve been in SG though.

How old are your kids? Did you include them in the application
How old are you?
Is your spouse working too?

All these would matter.
