Got it. I used to do volunteering while I was schooling and during my university regularly. Post that I didn't do during the early stages of my career (when I was working for a start-ups for 16+ hrs :) ). I did volunteering again for few years over the weekends for trust & part of CSR ;

I was part of CSR initiatives in all organizations I worked (even now)

Hi,

I would like to enquire this board and hear your opinions regarding my PR application. Currently, this is my third PR application.

My profile:
Age:17
Nationality: Malaysian
Race: Malay
Education: UPSR( equivalent to SG’S PSLE) , GCE N- LVL with 5 credit awarded, achieved the top 5% in SG cohort for N LVL, currently studying at local polytechnic.
Length of stay in SG: 4yrs+

The first application me and my mother applied under SC sponsorship by my mother spouse, which my mother got her approval while mine was rejected.

The second time i applied under my mother’s sponsorship got rejected on Oct 2021 right before my N LVL exam.

For current application, I applied on April 2022 and also under my SPR mother sponsorship and still pending for 8 months. (I reapply third time due to the circumstances that i have passed the national examination here and currently studying in Polytechnic)
2018 in Singapore

1st application - apply PR- Mother spouse SC sponsorship. when apply, when approve?
2nd application - apply PR under PR mother sponsorship. reject Oct 2021. when apply?
3rd application (current - apply on April 22 which is 6 mth after 2nd application reject)) - apply PR under SPR mother sponsorship.

Your mother is SC or PR?

Now you in LTVP or Student pass?
Hi, my PR application have been approved on 14 dec and the e system just updated the status today!!. Finally after 8 months of waiting i got the results that i wanted. I also received the letter today. Now i have to register for NS when mindef send me a letter. :)

Understand the gap in activities.

FWIW, I'm not sure doing the activities and waiting 4-5 years will really change things a lot. It won't be unfavourable and combined with other advancements it may be enough. At the same time, success still won't be guaranteed and you may be able to get it in another 1-2 years as is (my sense is you have some pros on your application).

Hence, if you are confident in your employment, it may make sense to wait 2 years (vs 1 year) and then decide what to do. As mentioned, you can start back up with the activities and leave them off if need be. Net-net, it's kind of a coin flip to me; I wouldn't pound the table either way (apply in 1-2 years or wait 4+ year with more activities).

Good luck.

Hi all,

Would it help to update ICA with my latest salary increment? It's a 15% increase which I thought is pretty decent given the current climate in the industry am in (correct me if am wrong). My PR application is approaching the 16th month mark, and am wondering if this updating ICA may make any difference.

My profile at the point of application, under the Family Ties Scheme:

Nationality & ethnicity: Malaysian Chinese
Age: Late 20s
Employment: Part time
Industry: Advertising
Education: Bachelor's degree
Marital status: Married for 10 months
Child: 2 months old
Visa type: LTVP+

SC spouse profile
Ethnicity: Indian
Age: Early 30s
Employment: Full time
Industry: Civil service
Education: Bachelor's degree

We've updated ICA when I went full time 3 months after submitting the application. They've also asked for full employment history + salary around the 10th month mark, followed by family CV from both sides in the 11th month. No request for additional documents since then.
Dropping an update that my application was approved earlier this month!

Was about to upload my latest salary information but found that the 'upload documents' button was gone. I've read enough from this forum that this could mean that ICA has already made a decision regarding my application (the logic being that, as such, they don't require any more info or documents from myself or my sponsor). I decided to just wait and sure enough, the letter arrived a week later.

Total wait: A little over 16 months.

NYY1, couldn't have said it better myself. I've actually been an Asst Office bearer in our RC and I'm also a member of the Constituency C2E group. I've been an RC member I believe for either 14 or 15 years (I'm think I'm due for my 15 year medallion this coming year). I joined my RC 15 years ago after my children had long finished schooling and were working (but still living at home) and I'd already sold my car before then so didn't need the free parking either I've never partaken of any of the few perks that are offered, although I have met the PM on 2 separate occasions (Istana Picnic held annually (except during the covid years.) But, while I'm not a hard-core do-gooder, I also worked for 3.5 years under UNHCR during the period of 1988~1991 resettling VN Boat People throughout ASEAN refugee camps as well (that was a sort of penance). Spent a huge amount of time on P. Galang as well.
Wow, good on you SMS! What are the responsibilities of an RC member/office bearer?

Congrats! Wow spouse of SC it took 16 months. What do they do in those 16 months really when everything is automated. I just feel they have set a timer just for fun, the decision is already made the moment you apply.

Married for only 10 months. That may be the reason for delay.

Hi all

I am writing on this forum to understand my PR approval chances...

Age: 23
Nationality: Indian (born in India)

Education:
- Done IGCSE and UK GCE A-Levels from International Schools in Singapore
- Done Bachelor's degree from international University in Singapore (BSc degree from SIM)
- Current Master's student at the National University of Singapore (MSc degree from NUS)

Work experience: Work experience of less than one year in Singapore

History: Residing in Singapore from 2007 under Dependent's Pass with my family. Completed my Bachelor's education in Singapore under Student's Pass when my family moved back to India. Worked for less than 1 year in Singapore under S-Pass. Currently studying at NUS for Master's education under the Student's Pass

Note:

Therefore, I am currently studying at NUS and wish to apply for PR under the Student's Pass. I note from some websites that in order to apply for PR under the Student's Pass I need minimum 2 years of stay in Singapore and must have passed one national exam (ie, PSLE or GCE O/N/A Levels) or must be in the Integrated Programme. I am in doubt if my UK GCE A-Levels qualification would hold the same meaning as mentioned in the eligibility requirements. Furthermore, does studying at NUS count as passing a national exam?

I am in doubt of my PR approval chances and would love some opinions. Any and all opinions or guidance is much appreciated

Thank you!

Maybe not the second you apply, but I agree it definitely shouldn't take that long.

I believe the A-level would have to be the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A level. The UK A level would be as good as having taken it overseas.

Something new I heard today is of your PR pending shows 4 lines then it’s a good chance else it shows 1 or 2 lines .. anyone knows bout this 😂
I just noticed, my upload documents button is gone. I applied exactly 4 months ago.
Also 4 lines. It is going to be a rejection. The last 6-7 odd times it got rejected, it was like this exactly after 4/6/9 months. As if they just set a timer to reject.

Bet you fools use Ouija boards as well. I have a slightly used crystal ball you are well to gaze into as well. There's a fool born every minute. P.T. Barnum would have loved you all.
