Hi,

I would like to enquire this board and hear your opinions regarding my PR application. Currently, this is my third PR application.

My profile:
Age:17
Nationality: Malaysian
Race: Malay
Education: UPSR( equivalent to SG’S PSLE) , GCE N- LVL with 5 credit awarded, achieved the top 5% in SG cohort for N LVL, currently studying at local polytechnic.
Length of stay in SG: 4yrs+

The first application me and my mother applied under SC sponsorship by my mother spouse, which my mother got her approval while mine was rejected.

The second time i applied under my mother’s sponsorship got rejected on Oct 2021 right before my N LVL exam.

For current application, I applied on April 2022 and also under my SPR mother sponsorship and still pending for 8 months. (I reapply third time due to the circumstances that i have passed the national examination here and currently studying in Polytechnic)
2018 in Singapore

1st application - apply PR- Mother spouse SC sponsorship. when apply, when approve?
2nd application - apply PR under PR mother sponsorship. reject Oct 2021. when apply?
3rd application (current - apply on April 22 which is 6 mth after 2nd application reject)) - apply PR under SPR mother sponsorship.

Your mother is SC or PR?

Now you in LTVP or Student pass?
First application: apply on Aug 2019, results came out on June 2020. Mother’s approved but mine rejected. (Applied together under one application)

Second application: apply on Jan 2021 rejected on Oct 2021

Mother is PR and I’m in STP currently

may i know how to we update ICA if we have salary increments? would the update cause any delays such as sending the application to the bottom of the pile again?

Any such change, you are expected to inform ICA.

When you enquire the status online via the ICA portal, do you see an option to submit additional documents? Payslips alone should be good unless you have changed to a new employer when you need to submit Annex A again

This is what i see on the site you mentioned. Doesn't say about salary, just employment which i presume is for change of employer.? I'm thinking that it might be a hassle just to get my employers to fill the Annex A again for the salary increment. Any thoughts?

Ad-hoc Submission
For applicants/sponsors who wish to update ICA on changes to any of the following 4 areas while the PR application is in progress. Please submit the documents only once.

Address (Only for the PR applicants. Sponsors are to report a change of address via the e-Service for IC Holders)
Marital Status
Educational Qualification
Employment (For Employment Pass and S pass holder, please include Annex A from your new employer)

The question is, do they even want to be informed about increments?

They are undoubtedly nice for oneself, but if you are already in the range then it probably doesn't matter. I.e. maybe why it is not one of the items listed to inform them about. Roughly speaking, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume 1/4 to 1/2 of all applicants have a salary increment during the life of the application?

Anyways, best of luck. I understand why people want to give it their best shot.

You can just email to [email protected].
I have done that in the past, and they acknowledged receiving the documents and updating the application.

Nationality & ethnicity: American/Caucasian
Age: 33
Employment: Full Time
Industry: Engineering
Education: Master's degree
Income: 170k incl. bonuses
Marital status: Single but engaged to SC (ROM in March 2023, trying to pull-in sooner)
Child: None
Visa type: EP (4years)
Status: Pending (Applied Aug'22)
Previous Rejections: 1 (Rejected in 2020)

Kind of stuck here, honestly don't have high hopes that I'll get it on my second attempt. I don't believe a fiance counts as a sponsor, so I applied by myself. Would it be advisable to re-apply (assuming current application gets rejected?) Should we amend the application with wife as sponsor, provided we don't get a response by then? Can we ask ICA to "hold" the application until we can add my SC spouse as a sponsor after ROM in March?

No such thing as telling ICA to “hold” an application. You can only update ICA after you ROM with the marriage cert.

You cannot amend an application to family ties. If you get a rejection, then you wait 2 years and make a fresh application with your spouse sponsoring you.

However there has been one case documented on the forum in the past year where the applicant was asked by ICA to change from PTS to FTS.

There was also the opposite where they applied via FTS and was asked to convert to PTS instead.

Honestly if you knew you were gonna get married next year, you could have waited till you ROM before you applied a second time via family ties.

Thank you for the guidance @ singaporeflyer & @NYY1. Keeping my fingers crossed and reapply again after an year
Are there any other things I can do to show my interest to stay here long term. Would Volunteering, Charity or insurance/wealth polices would be of any help?

Big fat NO to all the above. Don’t waste your time with volunteering or charity if you are not sincere. ICA knows people only do that for PR and then stop once they get PR.

Marrying a local citizen or PR and having a baby is usually better.

I want to show my interest and I would continue. I don't see this as short-term things. My question was - If any of these shows my commitment; If yes - I would do it ;
