Dear ones,
I have queries regarding the appeal process.
does the application id remains same during appeal process? or a new application id is created.
I have few weeks left to appeal.
Are there two systems for PR submission. a frnd of mine who has recently submitted application has ack id starting from PRS? is direct submission on paper still prevalent
Lastly, does appeal process outcome comes sooner?

PS: I just chanced upon this group. Please let me know if I am violating any rules per se of the forum
Quote original application ID during appeal.
Appeal can be via paper or email submission.
Appeal outcome will be in 2-3 months, but 95% of appeal cases wont go through unless major changes in appeal which is different from original application.
Most of the cases, appeal also goes to the same officer who evaluated your main application.

IF you can even get them to entertain an appeal. Most of the time they will refuse and tell you to make a new application.

I recently appealed. Some answers on your queries:
1. Yes, quote your original reference number when you appeal.
2. The reference number will be changed afterwards
3. No definite waiting time. My original application lasted 10 months before the result came. My appeal now is running at 7 months and counting...

Dear all,

I am so grateful that many warm-hearted ppl are providing comments and structured suggestions here.
Any advice on my second application or comment on my chance for second application?

Here is my profile:
Age:45
Nationality: Chinese
Gender: male
Education: double Bachelor's degree(both in China)
Pass: EP pass
Occupation: sr. Director in high-tech company
Salary: 300k base + bonus + equity

Wife nationality: Chinese
Age:41
Education: bachelor(China) and master(UK)

Two daughters: 5 and 13, one is in local school and the other is in International School.

I came to SG by end of 2020, my family joined me in the middle of 2021. Applied under family ties last Sep and got declined. Guess it is because our staying in SG was short.
Recently change was I got a promotion and salary increase. Plus, my wife got a job(EP) two months back.

How did you apply under family ties when both of you are on EP?

At at high level from end 2020 till now is still early. Wait for 3 full years of tax submissions with IRAS and then attempt.

Your previous rejection was not related to salary and so your promotion and salary increase may not adding great value if you even apply now.

Main applicant Age and kid in international school may work against you.

Thanks for the quick response. My wife was DP by that time. The elder one is in a local school however younger one was in local pre-school, and just transferred to an international school. Wait one more year means I am older, :(. I am in a dilemma.

????!!!!

You need to re-read the PR eligibility criteria. You don't qualify for family ties!

85-90% is based on main applicant. So your wife moving to EP wont make a great impact.

Please answer how did you apply under family ties when neither of you are SC or PR ?

Hi. For clarity, here are the following buckets one can use to apply for PR.

As a foreigner, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residence if you are a/an:
-Spouse of a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident (PR)
-Unmarried child aged below 21 years old, born within the context of a legal marriage to, or have been legally adopted by, a Singapore citizen or PR
-Aged parent of a Singapore citizen
-Holder of an Employment Pass or S Pass
-Student studying in Singapore
-Foreign investor in Singapore.

Others here probably assume you applied as a Holder of an EP (blue above), in which case this is referred to as PTS. If so, even though you applied as a "family" (wife and kids under your application), this is not considered Family Ties (Family Ties would be the one in red and possibly the unmarried child and aged parent schemes as well). Probably just a mix up on semantics.

Anyways, when did your older one start in the local (MOE) school? 2022 as a Sec 1? Do you intend to keep your younger one in the international school or try for local (MOE) school when she is eligible for Primary school? I do not know for sure but I would guess that nursery/kindy school type doesn't matter much.

Thanks, it's my misunderstanding of family ties. Applied as EP holder actually. Elder daughter started last July. For younger one, it depends but definitely won't send her to a local school for the convenience of PR application.

No problem, understand. Agree that the school choice should be made based on what is the best route for the child. Still, the local school system is one form (likely a strong form) of integration (for better or worse).

Anyways, best of luck for future applications. Maybe once everyone has been here 2-3 years or an EP renewal can try again.
