Re: PR approval chances 2022
Hello,
I'm currently waiting on my PR result (7 months and counting). I know at this stage it is a waiting game and I need to be patient.
I did want to know if there potentially could be a material impact to my application due a child being born recently?
The child wasn't born yet during application process. The child is a SC.
My situation is:
- Spouse is a Singapore Citizen
- Applied via family ties scheme.
- Age is 37
- Married for 12 years
- Resided in SG for 6 years on EP
- First time applying for PR
- I am an AU-citizen
- We have a son also applying for PR (also AU-citizen as born outside of Singapore)
- Spouse and I are Chinese (parents are of Malaysian descent).
- Working in Cybersecurity domain
- Combined annual salary is 500K/annum (evenly distributed between spouse and myself)
Previously had engaged in a free consultation with an immigration consultant that said I had a 70% chance of success (I didn't use them). Not sure how accurate this is, but would the new SC child increase odds of success? I don't plan to make any new changes to my application as I'm not looking to "rock the boat" yet while I wait for a result. Just looking to understand.

Yes, by all means, notify them with the baby's particulars, etc. etc. It may not help but it surely will NOT hurt. It does show the nature of the marriage is not just for convenience as you have already started a family. Go for it and good luck.
If it's any consolation, I've been a PR for 27 years but it took me a number of years and tries to get approved and that was with two local born children and a local wife. (I've actually been here for just over 40 years now (retired 3 yrs ago at 71.5 years of age). Both kids grown up now 33 & 38 and both married to locals and I also have 3 G.Kids between them. Not an Aussie, but a Yank.

Re: PR approval chances 2022
Seems like a high chance for success. Only thing that stands out is the (other) son also applying for PR; how old is he (presumably > 6 years old) and is he born to the same mother? If so, was the mother a SC at the time of birth? Obviously if the child is born outside of SG, there is no obligation to register as an SC (by descent). Net-net, it is still probably fine. Good luck.ModernFamily01 wrote: ↑Fri, 11 Nov 2022 10:38 pmHello,

The missing button likely only signifies that the decision is imminent likely in the next 1-2 weeks. Let’s not get hopeless yet.
Btw, my button also disappeared earlier this week. It’s been 10 months for me now since submission. Keeping fingers crossed.
