Change of Marital Status during pending of PR application result

Post by dk00 » Thu, 07 Apr 2022 9:21 pm

Hi guys,

I submitted my PR application September last year but just got married recently. Hence, I would like to update my marital status. However, during documents upload page, I'm required to provide the followings:

1) Letter of request 2) Marriage certificate/Divorce certificate. If married, include a) letter stating the country from which spouse's qualification is obtained and Nature of Course (Full time study/Part-time study/Distance Learning) b) Spouse's NRIC/FIN, if any c) Spouse's qualification certificates d) Spouse's letter of employment with his/her designation, basic and gross salary e) Spouse's passport biodata page f) Letter stating previous marriages together with divorce certificate, if any.

Just to check if any of you have ideas what's the 1)letter of request and does 2a) mean that I will need to get a letter from her academy where she obtained the qualification? A bit lost with these requirements, hope somebody can help to clear my mind.

Thanks!

Being engaged still means single. There’s no “engaged” status in the form.

You only need to inform ICA when both of you have gotten married officially. You’re kind of jumping the gun too soon.

I hope the below is the question from the original poster that you are referring to

1) Letter of request is just a letter in which you write the purpose and the details of the documents that you are submitting for your application update. If you are updating your marriage, you have to write it like a letter addressed to ICA PR with subject as 'Regarding submission of marriage documents....(anything related to your update). Then you write your explanation on what you want to update and the details of the document that you are attaching when you submit. Then attach this letter of request and the other documents like marriage cert, spouse educational documents etc, under the 'update marital status' in the PR portal.
2) 'letter from her academy where she obtained the qualification' - just simply means the degree certificates.
