Need some advice on suing someone in Small Claim Tribunal

Post by cseir » Fri, 11 Mar 2022 11:48 pm

Hi all,

Wanna have some advice/sharing of past experience regarding suing someone in Small Claim Tribunal for a non-payment case.

1. There's no written agreement/contract being signed between me & the other party (my friend), so can Whatsapp message be used as evidence in the Small Claim Tribunal?

2. If Whatsapp messages can be used, then I should claim against my friend? I'm now claiming against the company (my friend is one of the directors), coz I've helped them complete a renovation project but after that, they refused to pay me.

3. I've attended the 1st consultation today at the SCT, I think maybe I'm claiming the wrong party? Coz the judge keeps asking me, you are claiming against the company or your friend?

Thank you so much.

Sounds like you need legal advice.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
