Tax implications for a new EP who was working overseas for Singapore Employer.

Post by Menoetius » Sat, 05 Mar 2022 12:50 am

Hello Everyone! Apologies , if this question is already asked .

Due to Pandemic, I started working for a Singapore based employer remotely from other country . ( a year back , (India(tax resident), Only IPA , no EP issued yet , received salary in Indian bank account.).

I relocated to SG after things got better, (December 2021, EP issued, received december salary on sg bank account. ) .

my role is based in SG(as per the offer) , but my work is not country specific ( software , across different regions that the company operates. )
My question is , am i taxable in Singapore as non resident for whole year even though i am not on EP and the work is treated as incidental to sg company / its the only December month?

Thank you.

No. Only after getting your EP and arriving in Singapore. No issue at all.
