Student pass holder applying ltvp

Post by Gomdol2 » Fri, 04 Mar 2022 9:46 pm

Hi, I’m a student pass holder and will apply ltvp as I’m marrying PR soon. (ROM in Singapore)

The student pass will be expired in July and my actual course will be finished in about first week of June (if I don’t fail😂).

I’m wondering if I need to cancel my student visa first in order to apply ltvp.
I’d like to apply ltvp as soon as I finish my final exam in June. Is it okay to apply ltvp without canceling my student pass? Will it be canceled automatically ?
Or should I wait until my student visa to be expired and then apply ltvp?

If I remember correctly you should apply while your STP is still valid, and leave sufficient time for the LTVP application. The STP should be automatically canceled.

I applied for EP upon graduation and at the time I got my EP, the STP was still valid (and still not yet got the degree officially). They just took the STP back and issue me a new EP.
