Hi all,

I did search and read alot of topics around this but im confused about my situation as ive read mixed responses. If anybody can help it would be hugely appreciated.

- i work for a company in HK and have a DP in SG
- i called MOM who said its fine if the company i work for is not operational in SG, and im not working with SG clients.
- i called my HR in HK to check, they said there is an entity in SG but it doesn't employ anybody, its registered as a EXEMPT PRIVATE COMPANY LIMITED BY SHARES if that makes a difference.

- I am wondering, am i still ok to continue working under the HK company as my company isn't actually employing anybody in SG?
- do i need to pay tax on my income?

Thanks for your help in advance.

All the shares are in that Singapore private exempt entity are undoubtedly owned by the HK entity.

And since there is a registered entity in Singapore, regardless of whether it has employees or not, means that you must be working for that entity and not the HK entity.

Perhaps you can become the first employee if the HK entity applies for an EP for you.

PS: There must be at least one normally resident in Singapore director, so there is at least one employee, perhaps rented from firms who rent directors.
