Anybody see Ah Girls Go Army?
Caught it in theaters a little over a week ago, and God was it awful. I’m beginning to understand why there is such little funding/support for the local arts scene- if this is the best SG has to offer, its pretty pathetic. The movie itself was a horror, no plot line at all, cheap jokes, and basically felt like a 2H long ad. What pisses me off the most is the fact that each of his movies is broken down into as many parts as possible- obvious money grab. He says its because the story is too long to fit into one movie, but when there is no story at all how can this be your argument? Anybody else see it?

I've never bought tickets and never will buy tickets to catch a local movies especially those jack Neo ones...i think it's pretty tasteless and boring, always about the army and it's already very dull. I don't even watch the local movies even they're on netflix.
I'll save my money for a good Marvel movie anytime.

I highly recommend these two local movies - if you can track them down.
Perth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perth_(film) which features a very intense performance by Lim Kay Tong.

The Blue Mansion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blue_Mansion, directed by Glen Goei. If you read between the lines of the story line (which is not difficult to do if you are even slightly aware of local politics), it's really quite amazing that this ever made it to local theaters.

I also avoid getting tickets to most local movies, but watched the original Ah Boys to Men franchise to get a better understanding of NS. Thought it was pretty okay, but this time it was terrible.abbby wrote: ↑Mon, 28 Feb 2022 12:41 pmI've never bought tickets and never will buy tickets to catch a local movies especially those jack Neo ones...i think it's pretty tasteless and boring, always about the army and it's already very dull.
