Can anyone recommend a blender that can
* blend and crush ice well
* quiet
* durable

budget $90-$140

In order to crush ice well you definitely need a higher wattage blender… but a quiet one? I think that might not be possible, especially in that price range.

I’ve got a Sunbeam 800w 1.6L glass blender that I picked up in Australia for $79 - crushes ice with ease. The same specs here are more expensive.

Unless you are using it on a daily basis, I recommend glass even though it’s heavy to handle. If I were buying one today, I would probably just go for something like this one:

Hi malcontent

this tefal one was one of the models i shortlisted as well as an Electrolux one...both are 800w and around 1.6 litre...yup agree on the noise, I think it's quite difficult to find a quiet one for this price range. I think it's good so long as it crushes ice well.
