What are my cousins children called?

Are they also my cousins or nieces and nephews?

Is that when the once or twice removed comes into play? I've never understood it either.

I've always used 2nd cousins but I'm pretty sure that is wrong and there should be a x removed in there somewhere. I have "cousins" who are the great-great grandchildren of my aunt, I've got no idea what number that should be :D

Same here, the whole “removal” thing is incredibly confusing.

First cousin once removed.
How does this work? When is someone “removed”?

I didn’t know about this until brother’s kids had kids before I did… I discovered they are first cousins once removed… but wait, does that make me their uncle once removed, or am I their grand uncle?
