LTVP / PR Chances

Post by AJJ » Thu, 30 Dec 2021 7:08 pm

Hi All,

Would love your advice on my wife's chances of getting LTVP / PR.

Me (28, Indo Chinese, SG citizen since 2019) and my wife (25, Msian Chinese) got married end 2020 and have a baby boy born in Msia. My wife has worked around 3yrs before in SG and also pursued a part time diploma during that period. We entered SG in Sep 2021 and applied LTVP, which was rejected even after appeal. My wife subsequently found a job under Work Permit in order to remain in SG.

I am earning 3k now at an SME, and my wife earning ~2k under WP. Our baby has however just recently gotten his SG citizenship, so I was wondering what are the chances, now that our baby boy is also Singaporean. One factor to consider is that we were away from SG for awhile and has only returned and resumed work in SG in Oct 2021, which might affect my ability as a sponsor? We also did not have PLOC as we weren't aware of it prior to marriage. ](*,)

I'm seeking LTVP/PR for wife for hope of better employment opportunities, as WP work & salary is limited. Would love some advise whether I should re-apply for both LTVP & PR, or just LTVP?

Many Thanks!

You said she worked 3 years before getting married, was she on work permit?

If yes, you need to get permission from MOM before getting married.

So, did you get permission or not? If no, that’s probably the likely reason why LTVP got rejected.

Yes she was on WP for that 3 years, and Yes I've gotten approval from MOM albeit after our marriage, but yup that wasn't the reason! :???:

Likely your long stay out of SG and salary to sponsor could have been the issue. What was your salary when you applied for the LTVP?

Yeah long stay out of SG probably.. 3k but just started employment on Oct 2021. You reckon I should wait a bit longer before reapplying LTVP? As of now I have 3mth payslips in.

Apply after 1 year of continuous work will be better.
