Less than 50g of complex carbs per day would be in the very low range and should be at or around ketosis. But remember to eat a larger than usual amount of meat and eggs. Milk is a great source of protein, but it is also rich in lactose which is a carbohydrate.

I would think i would need to consume and increase the amount for meat and eggs. The carbs temptation is just too much...

Eat sufficient greens and with more meat (and corresponding fat) intake, hunger won't be quite as bad as you'd think. Maybe the first couple of days. If you can resist temptations and the overall shitty feeling in your head those 2 or 3 days, you'll probably be good. Decaf without milk or sugar will also help you to spike hunger pangs.

I don’t think cutting it out completely would be too good of an idea, unless of course it’s part of a special diet like keto. Chances are, being so restrictive will lead to a big crash and binge and set you back even further.

When I first tried going keto, keeping off carbs was incredibly difficult for me. Took a lot of discipline and constantly reminding MYS,Ed of my goals in order to stick with it.

Agree, once I got through the first week of misery (headaches, moodiness among other things) I began to feel more alert and clearheaded.smoulder wrote: ↑Thu, 30 Dec 2021 5:54 pmEat sufficient greens and with more meat (and corresponding fat) intake, hunger won't be quite as bad as you'd think. Why would anyone cut carb or do keto if Calorie Deficit and Exercise is the answer ?
Re: Cut carbohydrates 100% to lose weight?
Because they want to cut carbs or do keto. Not because it's the only way to gain salvation.midlet2013 wrote: ↑Wed, 05 Jan 2022 8:20 amWhy would anyone cut carb or do keto if Calorie Deficit and Exercise is the answer ?

Really, I think the underlying theme is that its very hard to cut carbs. So they clearly want to gain salvation without cutting carbs. Which does not seem to be possible.smoulder wrote: ↑Wed, 05 Jan 2022 9:16 amBecause they want to cut carbs or do keto. Re: Cut carbohydrates 100% to lose weight?
And that's how you manipulate your calories. By manipulating carbs.

Wt loss has no relationship with Calories. It has a lot to do with Insulin. Carbs increase Insulin so goodbye to weight loss. Thats why Keto works so well. Cuz low carb lowers Insulin.
Intermitten Fasting does the same. After 12 hrs of no eating, Insulin goes to zero and then body uses fat. So eating 3 or more times a day is as good as saying good bye to weight loss.
1 gm of Carb has 4 calories. 1 gm of Protein has 4 calories. 1 gm of Fat has 9 calories.
Calories from Fat != Calories from Carbs
If u derive most of ur calories from Carbs, no weight loss. Calorie deficit can help but its not sustainable that's why every now n then , people struggle.
As u age, one has to move from Carbs to low carbs , high protein and high fat.

Here we go again. I suggest you read more about this.
We are essentially saying similar things. Which is that cutting carbs is a good way to lose weight. I think we can both agree to that.
Here's where we differ. You think that you can consume infinite amounts of only meat and still lose weight because insulin response bruh. Try this. Try consuming only meat - as much as a tiger eats in a day. Quick google search tells me that is at least 9 kgs. Then tell me that lack of insulin is going to just miraculously make that meat disappear and you will lose weight.

Why would u interpret it as Infinite. If ur requirement is 1800 cal, then even if eat 1900 with fat/protein, its not bad. However, if u eat 1800 cal and 1200 is from carbs, it won't be good.smoulder wrote: ↑Wed, 05 Jan 2022 11:21 amHere we go again. I suggest you read more about this.

The key point here is no Calorie Deficit. If u eat what u need based on Fat/Protein and Intermittent Fasting , u will lose weight.

I am sharing an idea that works. Eat properly but focus on Fat/Protein and not on Carb. And do fasting if possible.
There is no reason to pick on me just bcus I am wise
