Post by abbby » Fri, 17 Dec 2021 9:57 am

Has other countries had the younger ones vaccinated? Is Pfizer safe for the younger children..?

Singapore's starting the vaccination from end Dec..

The US has approved the vaccine for kids under 11, I expect other countries to begin to follow suit. Pretty sure they wouldn’t approve it for use unless it was safe.

Depends on your definition of ‘safe’. To me, some complaints are to be expected from children.

Mild to moderate fevers and muscle pain/ fatigue to be expected in a proportion. Nothing as serious as myocarditis or death.

Compared to what we know COVID can be capable of, and the threat of long COVID or brain/nervous system damage, I’ll be giving my 9 yo daughter the vaccine at first opportunity.

I mean… side effects are to be expected with any vaccine, regardless of age group. Just glad that it is finally getting approved for kids, one step closer to achieving herd immunity.
